Coming from someone who has taken AP for three years, I can say all these are very true. All I took was AP History classes and I do not regret it at all. Yes, it can be a pain to get through and a load of work but at the end it is so worth it because colleges are impressed with AP on transcripts. Ive taken 3 AP tests and they are absolute monsters but they are really worth all the trouble in the end.

+ Alahji Barry I used the Princeton Review book mainly and then the 5 Steps to a 5 book just for a couple of AP Psych topics :) I don't want to say the name of my high school since it'll disclose where I live but it's a pretty big public high school that has around 25 AP courses offered. I could take so many because I did a few online as well and also the school lets you do as many as you like as long as you have prerequisites. :)

+ Alahji Barry yeah of course! I took AP Micro and Macro, AP Biology, AP Human Geography, and AP Psychology online. I would definitely recommend taking humanities online- they are the easiest to basically self-study for since it's mainly memorization and the concepts are a lot more straight forward than in science or math :)

I took some brainfoggled notes on the general tips (because though I'm not taking AP smthns, it helps with tests): You will take lots of notes. Hence, buy lots of notebooks, post-its, flash cards etc. Do take different kinds of notes for easier navigation. Mind maps great for sciences and history, Make lots of diagrams for biology. You must note as you go through prep books. Take notes so you're not overwhelmed on test day. Practice questions. Good rest on the day of exams. ✌️

The curriculum and exam for APUSH changed recently (I think 2014?) and the newer version for Princeton Review might be more accurate / have updated practice questions, but it's up to you - you should be fine overall if you study hard

Quick Tip: I highly, HIGHLY, advise against doing paper notes, flash cards, etc. for AP classes. Here's why: -Taking paper notes takes too long, and since most people take more than one AP class at once, your hand is going to be constantly strained and in pain. Paper notes get disorganized, you can't correct, change, or add new information easily, and you can't take them everywhere you go. Well, hypothetically you could, but I wouldn't recommend that. Virtual notes are so much easier, take less time, and are easily accessible from anywhere across the web for your personal use, and others, if you make it available. +Now, I know a lot of us prefer to write our notes, whether it be simply because we enjoy the act of doing it, the aesthetic of it (don't waste your time on aesthetic notes, you'll waste 10 years of your life away, I guarantee), or because we genuinely process the information better then when we type it. If you have the time and dedication, and prefer it, than write your notes, by all means. Personally, I type all my notes, and then write a summary and brief overview of my typed notes onto paper. -Programs like Quizlet, quizizz, and Kahoot! exist to be virtual cards right inside your pocket. Or, well, phone, but you get the point. You can use these resources on your tablet, phone, computer, laptop, etc. You can use them anytime, study in multiple different forms, from automatically generated tests using the information you input, games, or just old fashioned flash cards. I find that I study better when it's almost like a game, with the mindset of: "I want to win". Overall, for me, it just always came down to time. What's the best way I could utilize my limited time, process and store the information, and take notes while actively participating in the lesson? (If you have live lessons.)

Christina Valladares yes take it! Honors classes usually do not require as much as AP does, I’ve taken several honors classes and they just expect you to be responsible and stay on top of your work. You will be able to handle it, and later on you can take AP if you want to.

Take it from me, I came into the class 4 months late & even tho history is my strongest subject it's taken me a lot of time to catch up. Use your summer for community service or, if you live in a state where health is a requirement to graduate, take that over the summer. +Uzma Edhi Honestly the actual classes were medium toughness (pretty hard but not unbearable) but in comparison the AP exams and the prep books were super easy so that's good. When you take a class online you take the AP exam in May like everyone else, so there's not a difference between an online student and any other student when it comes to the AP exams. :)

AP chem can be pretty tough. just make sure to spend extra time on that one. make it a priority to thoroughly understand the subject, do a bunch of extra practice before tests and don't be afraid to get help. this will make preparing for the ap exam much much easier. but even if you kinda wing it like i did you might be fine too lol.

+ 54321dheeraj Overall, the FLVS course will not sufficiently prepare you for the exam- make sure you buy either the Princeton Review or Barron's prep book (both are great) and then learn it by heart- alszo try to do at least 3 practice tests before the exam.

+ 54321dheeraj For me personally I found Micro a bit more confusing in the beginning but overall once you get the hang of it they're both pretty straightforward. I'd say they're an 8 out of 10 difficulty if you don't study, and pretty easy if you do. I love economics though so I might be a bit biased :)

+ Hunter Z ok haha good to know :) I'd say it depends on how well you think you can handle AP classes. If you're not so great with the load, or your school gives an absurd amount of homework, maybe then 2-3 classes. If the load's not too bad and you think you can handle it then maybe try 4-5.

the problem is our school check your grades in freshmen and select you to take 5 AP subjects you get prepared until your senior year! its great but you can't choose what subject you want ! it literally pisses me off I'm a senior and I'm taking AP Biology AP Chemistry AP Physics C Mechanics AP Physics C Electromagnetism AP Calculus AB

+Guliter trash Those are all good AP courses! I'd recommend trying doing online AP courses but it's your senior year so idk if you still want to do that :) My school only let me take 2 AP courses freshman year and 3 sophomore year but I took 3 extra online :)

+ Axel B yeah you could definitely take only regular classes in high school if you wanted to. Your weighted GPA would be lower than if you took AP classes, but if you get straight A's then your unweighted gpa would be the same even if you took higher level courses.

+Emily Chee I'd honestly recommend buying the 2017 one just to feel mentally comfortable knowing you have the latest version. I did see some small differences between the 2015 and 2016 versions of APUSH and I used the 2016 version and got a 5, so I'd just say go with the latest version :)
