1st Tip - Pretend like you learned nothing the entire school year. Study the prep book and try master all of its concepts. Barrons and Princeton Review are the best prep books. 2nd Tip - Do lots of practice tests; especially for science and math. Take at least 2 practice tests before the exam. Go over all of your mistakes and the questions you weren’t sure about, find out why you got it wrong, correct it. Many old practice tests can be found online for free. 3rd Tip- Start preparation early. You cannot cram a massive amount of information in a few weeks or days. Read prep books at least 2 times. 4th Tip- If taking a humanities course, write down important facts and information and review them constantly. For history AP courses, review important dates and names constantly for FRQ’s- incorporating these will greatly boost your schools. 5th Tip- Barrons is better for science and math, and Princeton Review is better for the humanities. 6th Tip- Make a dedicated study schedule and stick to it. Generally 1 topic for each day, and again give yourself ample amount of time before the test to study.

AP Q&A: how did you prep for the DBQs and SAQs for the APUSH test? How are you preparing for them for world history?
@elisarich71075 жыл бұрын
Honestly for the APUSH DBQs there are some absolutely amazing guides out there. I think the DBQs are the easiest section of the whole exam. Honestly I would just sit down and write them. Then grade them based of rubrics (if you can find them). It really helps to know what the graders are looking for.
@saulypoly5 жыл бұрын
For the SAQ's just keep them short and packed with evidence try to keep them no more than 4 sentances. for the DBQ's just look at all the sources and identify what they are and write little annotations on them like what time period they are in, what is the purpose, etc. Just remembered for both of them don't choose which side you reside with try choosing the side with the most evidence as that will help you write

Q&A: when you do the Princeton review, do you actually do a practice test before starting content review like it says at the start? If you don't, what time do you usually start doing the practice tests (in relativity to the day of the exam)
@lifeviz285686 жыл бұрын
+ Raymond Zhou I normally do the diagnostic test before diving in to the content review. That way, you know what exactly you don't know and it'll be easier for you to study more efficiently! I did that for AP Calculus AB and got a 5 this year! Also, I normally do my practice exams at 8am so I can simulate actual test conditions as much as possible. Bonus tip: Print the 2013 AP answer sheet from the College Board website. You can use that to do the multiple choice section of your diagnostic exams! All the best to your future AP exams!

For AP Chemisty Princeton is good.

For ap bio last year, i read through the whole Barron's 3-4 days before the exam (I did one of the practice tests in the book and 3 official ones from previous years (my teacher distributed)) and I got a 5 on the exam. I used Cliff notes throughout the year for review. Overall, I think getting both (although it can be expensive and bulky :( ) is good because they fill in gaps and confusion that one may provide. If you HAD to pick one, I would go with Cliff notes because there were some errors in the Barron's one and the Cliff notes questions were generally better to understand. If you really want to over prepare, get Barron's because, like estella said, it's more difficult than the actual exam and I feel like they provided more information than needed. Hope this helps!
