A remote mountain valley on Jiri Mountain in Hadong, a densely forested area. There is a monk who builds a small temple and lives here. Monk Seungju, who chose to live in the mountains 13 years ago to practice self-sufficiency. The vegetable garden, which grows irregularly with various crops, resembles the appearance of a free-spirited monk. “I am a monk only when I pay obeisance. I am a farmer. “The perfect naturalistic farmer.” The monk, who became interested in temple food after becoming a monk at the age of 20, grows his own food and cooks it. Aside from the five spicy ingredients that characterize temple food, Oshinchae, the monk makes light summer kimchi using his own secret recipe. “Pure summer kimchi. I feel refreshed, my mind is clear, and I feel purified. “It’s really, really delicious.” Every time, a customer came to visit the monk who was sitting at the simple table.
