Was and still am a Leona fan, but it would be naive to believe her voice hasn’t dramatically changed for the worse. Way faster vibrato than ever before, almost like a machine gun. Before, during her X-Factor days and Spirit/Echo eras, it seemed as if she could effortlessly control the speed of her vibrato. Now, it seems like she can’t and she automatically defaults to the machine gun vibrato. Also, it seems like she’s pushing and reaching for the high notes or “belts,” as some like to call it. She needs to work on balancing her mixed voice. It’s too heavy, nasally and inconsistent. Sometimes, she sings in a dark place in her lower register and then she crams the sound into a nasal place as she sings higher. Her head voice is still superb, although there wasn’t much pure head voice here, if at all. She needs to get with a coach ASAP, preferably an SLS/classical coach. There are a few excellent coaches out there. But, to recap, she’s gone significantly downhill. Please don’t try to justify that she’s overworked. Um, no. Her voice has been this deteriorated for years, specifically during/after the Glassheart era.

The saddest part is that she *IS* classically trained if you know anything about her foray into music before becoming famous. Idk what caused the deterioration but it seems like her voice just decided to desert her💔🤷‍♂️ with no real cause or explanation. She spoke about it in an interview after the glassheart tour I think. She said that the tour really put a lot of emotional strain on her as well as the stuff she was dealing with in terms of her label at the time. She said there was something wrong with her vocal cords and it seems like the problem just doesn't want to go away. Which breaks my heart for her. Being so talented and having it disappear at the drop of a hat. But if Mariah's could m make some degree of a return to a fraction of the voice she had in her prime, I'm hopeful Leon's will too.

I think nerves played a huge part in this performance. Still think she’s fabulous. Have seen her twice in concert and unlike many famous singers she sang every song and didn’t mime to them. It got stronger and more comfortable when the commonwealth representatives came on and the choir started their backing vocals as it took the attention off of her.

Oh darling, that part is falsetto, not head voice. In fact, she didn't use any head voice for the whole performance at all. I said many times that her falsetto is weaker and unstable now but few people trust me.

I watched her 2018 performance of this song where she had a gospel choir. It was amazing! She started a little shaky on both. Maybe here it was the environment and I feel like the band and choir was a little overwhelming at times. Closed nicely though.

The beginning was a little shaky because it just seemed her voice is simply too powerful and you could see she just wanted to start giving it some oomph. Spell TV because shes a natural soprano. Belts are her specialty. Most sopranos are known for their high notes so they never perfect their low notes with an exception of a few vocalist like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Deborah Cox, and Celine Dion who are really powerful sopranos with solid lower register
