What a difference from the barn project. Such a different landscape and climate. I would recommend you keep the fridge door open until you can turn on the power. Fridges, although they look clean can still get a musty smell if they have previously contained food.

What a beautiful house! Love the outdoor kitchen..perfect for Portugal living. How bizarre that they left such personal items as clothes and photos - as if they just disappeared unintentionally! It's great for you that you don't have to purchase new household items. You guys have every reason to be excited about this property. The house is in perfect condition, as if nothing happened around it - I know it's a rough start but honestly the property is already showing signs of recovery. Wishing you both the best.

So much potential! Great, sturdy, house. Suggestion - I'd skip the chest freezer in the entry way under the stairs. Some kind of a mini wine cellar, storage cabinet would look so pretty.

We moved from years living in Italy back to the states. We bought one of these solar generator by ecoflow. We had to use it when we got hit by a hurricane….we are so glad we spent the money for this home saver!

The house looks incredible, so many things can be up-cycled. Bee is a marvel at making old into something wonderful and new. There's not much I would change about the main house, just some superficial stuff & cleaning. If Bea isn't totally into billiards, I'd put the pool table in an outbuilding (convert to home bar/entertainment center), not the main house... it takes up a lot of space & there's no escaping that (& I love pool, but not everyone does). lol 😆

What a fantastic house… great you can use a lot of the things left behind and give the rest to charity! It can be expensive to have to furnish a place that size! Eventually you can sort it out to your standards! Paint does wonders, and on tiles too! there is a lot more positive to this property than negative… You are blessed. Love to Bea!

What a fantastic home and, you’re right, it really is all cosmetic. I would die for that kitchen and all the things they left you. IMO, your home will be wonderful after you two work your magic! Just steam the bed , it's usable, wash all the bedding good for guests at least and make the upstairs office and the landing into a convertible bedroom, sofa beds in both .. Always handy to have spare sleeping spaces then you can have a lot of visitors at once

Yes the yellow must go. Maybe consider a moss green for the dinning and living space and keep the kitchen a candlelight white. You will need a larger mirror in the upstairs bathroom so you can see in it! I hope you replace the modern details with more organic earthen materials. Love the idea of pool table lighting. Save that dinning table!!!!
