@@D2Duehren No she is not - but she might be dragged. She and Walz both talk about "affordable" healthcare. Which is code for: we do not really want to piss off the industry by implementing the ONLY system that works for a service like healthcare. Universal healthcare delivered by ONE non-profit govermental instituion. Or a non-profit that is so strictly regulated, they could as well be a government agency. The "free market" does not work for a service like healthcare. It is often urgent, highly important (even life saving), cannot be delayed w/o incurable harm, and it is expensive (even IF delivered in a cost efficient manner). In a free market the consumers must have something to counterbalance the power of the sellers especially if it is a complicated product that must be delivered by big players (and modern medicine requires large institutions, it is not a mom and pop biz). *_The most important power of consumers is to NOT BUY at all,_* that can protect them of a lot of price gouging. They do not have that power with healtcare.Complexity favors the corporate players and if you let them shape the arena it is not like the government can "regulate" them afterwards. The corporate players will always be ahead 3 steps from the consumers and 2 steps from government. Sure any regulation will add complexity, but they have the manpower to create the loopholes to work around - and the costs will be added to the bills. It is not like the consumers (the patients) can stop playing the game.

Horrible interviewer! Nearly no solid policy questions, all about teasing out opinions and loaylty oaths. Constantly cutting into answers and monologizing himself, talking over his interviewee. How is this incompetent allowed to do such high-profile work in front of millions? I know politico has been on the decline as far as good political work goes, but this is shamefully bad spin media.

It's a big reason why Bernie had to start questioning him! It is pathetic how Politico is so to the right but consistently pretends that it is centrist. Centrist doesn't mean what it used to because Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton (!) and W and co. moved that line in the sand so far. Bernie is a Truman in policy. Read Truman's campaign of 1948; it's basically the same as Bernie's but with a pricing issue of margarine (Oleo) in '48.

Agreed, but KIS (keep it simple): universal healthcare for all. 😊
@yogiperogy2 ай бұрын
Why “affordable”? I’m fairly sure that America is the only western nation that does NOT have taxpayer-funded universal comprehensive healthcare. The insurance mafia will have fits but it’s long overdue for America to implement universal, comprehensive healthcare and bring America into the civilized western union of nations. It’s beyond my comprehension as a Canadian that heavy duty health crises like cancer can bankrupt American families. Capitalism built the western countries but it has changed from benevolent to ravenously predatory. Obscene greed is destroying an otherwise civilized society.

I was hoping what you said back in 2016. It would've helped her appeal to more voters in the Rust Belt States (at least Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin). Tim Kaine wasn't as popular as Bernie Sanders or Kamala Harris while she was a senator.

@@joel_anderson_tYES 👍 BERNIE❣ In hindsight, Tim Kaine has value. But I STILL don't know a lot about him. Hillary Clinton's campaign was BADLY Run on so many levels! And it seemed that Bernie was stumping MidWest more than HC or TK‼️ 😫😖

@@AlsanPine good for you. That's quite the sweeping generalization to say that most have health, property and skills and then do nothing. People face all sorts of challenges that interrupt their lives despite what they do. And there is no way for a young person to pay off a house at $10k a year. Your generational luck paid off for you to survive like that despite the thrift. I'm glad you recognize that you are lucky.
@AlsanPine2 ай бұрын
@@dahliafully of course i never said that you can pay off a house on $10k/yr. i said i can live on that with a paid off house and growing my own food and not wasting money, time, and resources in general. as i dedicated my life to service, i never made much money in my life. i was able to pay off my modest 1 acre property, however. you can call it a sweeping generalization all you want but it is very easy to see how wasteful people are. my most lucky break was being born in a family that encouraged me to learn. i grew up learning how to fix things myself and i never stopped learning. when doctors told me i would not make it past the 80's, i learned about nutrition and herbal medicine and here i am healthier than all the lazy people around me. i am not special at all. i am not particularly smart. i am not endowed with an exceptional body. what i do have is the ability to learn and adjust and find solutions to obstacles. it took time. and yes, it took luck but life is all about what we do with our luck. everyone living in this country is lucky. try living in the congo! i was also lucky to have lived all over the world as my dad worked for the gov and we traveled and lived all over. i appreciated the gifts we have living here. we americans winging about our tough life is very much like trump whining about how unfair his lot is! live well 🙂
