There isn’t anything free. Working taxpayers are carrying the financial burden. The problem is that both parties are complicit. Republicans owns so-called affordable housing and democrats are living in them, so they raise the rent 30% and if you are not on housing, so you falls through the cracks and the government/taxpayers pay these scumbags for raising the rent while getting government subsidies

I have nothing against Ilhan Omar and, if at all, I have a preference of the Democratic party over the Republican one. I do have a question, though, to everyone here: How many times, during the last 30, 40, 50 years, have you heard of a Christian, Jewish or Buddhist person carrying out a suicide bombing attack, against peaceful civilians, with the intention of killing as many of them as possible? Oh, not too many times? Right, so have I. Now, what about a Muslim person: How many times have you heard of a Muslim person carrying out a suicide bombing attack? Right again, so have I. And so, if that's the case, then is it not reasonable to feel fear of Islamists, which what "Islamophobia" really is?

It's amazing to hear her story. I helped the Somalies in Washington State in 1997. I know of what she speaks. Several told me horrific stories. The desperation was severe, and the need was great even after they got here. The constant fear of running out of food and or resources was palpable on a daily basis.

Time 1967 Please Palestine I was exactly 8 when that war started and I experienced the same struggles in various refugee camps until I got a chance to come to the states as a student and thus a chance at living a dignified life by being able look for and actually have a job to go to work, school and business Now I look back and see my people in Gaza go through what I went through and much worse leaves me speechless. Confused and sad when the biggest and most powerful country on the planet stands by and let this killing go on in Gaza you almost lose faith in humanity but then it gets revived when I hear those two America needs a change to get back to what it was and lean on its principles that that the founding fathers set forth and the collective experiences Americans have had for the last 300 plus years... God bless America

The amount of hate she gets tells us all we need to know about this country. We have turned into privileged, hateful, whiners that worry way too much about how others are living their lives. Don’t like how someone else lives? It’s NONE of your concern!

We should care about how other people live their lives, but with the intention of learning from them, whether we agree with what they do or not. Many people spend to much time hating other people because they have fallen into a tribalist mindset and see everyone outside their "group" as competition. Yes, they want to gain or retain privilege. They are foolish to not understand that we are all safer and stronger when we work together.

@@DrejaAndi I forgot to reply on this yesterday: I'm glad I see (notice) even more ppl mentioning tribalism lately. I'm not an expert but it's been some time since I added that word to the rather incoherent mix I mention when talking about humans (from the obvious stupidity and immaturity to selfishness/greed and petty goals to the less obvious self-inflicted prophecies that many popular choices/mentalities include, and the huge vicious cycles and dead ends... the paradoxes, etc etc).
