There's a lot of history between the two islands which can make things a bit complex. England used to rule Ireland and the Irish people won their independence only after generations of struggle. Couple that with being right next to each other and you have a lot of shared experiences as well as dividing experiences.

Interesting fact; I'm a quebecoise. Means I'm from the Province of Quebec in Canada. We speak french, are catholics, etc etc. But we don't eat french breakfast. We always kept the english type of breakfast. You know, saucages eggs tomatoes potatoes etc. The salty breakfast. French breakfast is more like croissants or white bread with anything suggary. Chocolat or jam. I'm so happy we are not doing that. Well...now people are doing it more. It became more popular. Another thing my mother was pointing out during a conversation we had about how we are a mixted culture between frenchs and english, that coffee is something fairly new to our culture. She said that as a young girl in the fifties or sixties, they were drinking tea at home. Everybody did. I know my ancestors did too. Coffee became a thing in the 70ties I guess.

Angry Applesauce Obscurity? All the countries outside are Europe are unknown and poor. No. So, a country outside of Europe is one of obscurity. Britain knows how to run things, they ran most of the world, and this gave birth to the west. I think they'll be fine without Europe 😂😂😂 all the hate is coming from small countries, that'll have to get their funding elsewhere. Furthermore, the Irish aren't exactly known for politics are they? Our voice is extremely small in the world, and they're trying to get their voice back. Were still fighting over Catholicism and Protestantism, something they were doing in the 1500s . It would benefit us if we left Europe too. Other countries, so as ourselves should see opportunity.

Lewis Galvin-Elston hey, man, you know it wasn't GREAT for the rest of the world when you guys "ran" it, right? You are harkening back to days of enslavement, destruction, colonialism, mass theft, and assimilation. Many of the peoples who now proudly live and work to make England and the UK great weren't even considered PEOPLE back then. You were only able to rule the world because you did so ruthlessly and with no regard for what cultures and kingdoms were left in ruins. You may pine for the days of colonialism but the rest of us are happier to be freed from it. I wish you all the best in the Brexit, but from an international perspective it was a clear mistake. I can only hope the seperation is handled in a way that doesn't damage the day to day lives of your citizens.

With the exception of the black pudding, both British and Irish breakfasts are a treat for me. The major difference I found are the mushrooms/grilled tomatoes and the type of banger. The rest seems very much the same. By far, my favorite portion of it is the white pudding. Whenever I go into an Irish pub in the states, I almost always order a breakfast. Occasionally I will have the bangers and mash, fish and chips or a stew and once I had a chicken sandwich ONLY because a friend boasted about it. However, each time I didn't have the breakfast, I WISH I had. It's a shame so many Americans have never tried either version of breakfast. In fact, this video has my mouth watering for one right now. Frankly, if all people had to eat were alternating American, Irish and English breakfasts, life would be extremely pleasant.

I would like to know what the differences where. From the camera angle they looked like they were basically the same breakfasts. And going by their reactions they were just guessing because almost everyone was second guessing which was Irish and British. So going by that the two meals were a lot alike.

Full Canadian breaky is "lumberjack". You get sausage, peameal (bacon) if in Ontario / streaky (side) bacon / maple bacon, pancakes, hash browns (different ways), eggs, toast w butter, maple baked beans, and more. Its hearty for those long winters and physical labour jerbs.

The sausages would have been really different and so would the black pudding - black puddings can really vary here because they all have different spices involved. One of my parents can't stand dennys black pudding but will only aim for denny's sausages for example. (I love Denny's white pudding but can't stand other brands whereas I'll eat any kind of black pudding- Dennys has a very smooth white pudding etcetc) I know someone who swears by Clonakilty black pudding. Also, the hash browns should have been a dead giveaway tbh. Irish full breakfasts don't traditionally have hash browns at all. Beans would have tasted the same I think. Rashers/bacon may not have varied much either. Seeing as Ireland and England have developed alongside each other and have had such close ties over the centuries, a lot of our foods mirror each other. It's a Thing That Happened. tl;dr a lot of similarities but certain flavor profiles would have been different to people who are familiar with them.

This was confusing. I don't understand who was right or who was wrong or their reactions at the end, I just didnt understand what was going on. At first it seemed straightforward, like they are guessing which is which, but then the second half was like.... ??? They raised the signs again randomly after already having guessed both dishes, and the reactions to whether they were right or wrong. I'm just confused by the way it was set up. I dont even understand who won or lost.

However on our last day staying in the Blarney hotel the waiter asked if we would like some bread and he brought out soda bread! Well I tried my very first soda bread and thought I had arrived in heaven, so if you want to compare breads the Irish definitely win as our British version is pretty bland in comparison but the breakfast are the same really in my opinion😁
