I’d be happy to have those legs. Same problem when you’re tall just got more muscle to grow. Heavy squats and heavy hack squats seem to do the best
@shaftofwisdom4 жыл бұрын
Aren't hack squats an absolute no go for tall people? I'm 6 feet and it destroys my knees in the first rep it feels like Mike patella is about to rip, wesley is 6foot 3 how does he manage them

@@shaftofwisdom put your feet higher or use less weight until your knees get used to it and or use reverse bands.

It seems like alot of today's bodybuilders don't do regular squats anymore to me they are the bread and butter of developing the legs.

depends on your frame. some of the tall guys can't stay upright while going low...places dangerous stress on the lower back.

The cable adducter is easier to perform with a plate under your other foot. U will get more space to to perform the movement. And the foot is less likely to touch the ground
@donutpress11914 жыл бұрын
Wesley, legs look to be progressing nicely. I'm glad you have found some good alternatives to traditional back squatting! I wrote a post a couple months back advocating for more front squatting, back squatting, or any type of squatting in general to help develop your legs and it looks like it's paying off! I'd try front squatting on the smith machine too if you feel it is effective and safe. Looking back at some of guys with the best wheels in bodybuilding history like Tom Platz, Branch Warren, Ronnie Coleman, etc. you can see commonality in one key exercise selection. All of these guys in some form or another incorporated a heavy squat movement as an instrument to build their legs and there's a good reason why! There's a unique quality added to the muscle that shows in the form of higher levels of density in the legs when heavy squats are incorporated. The muscle appears like there's more grain and grit to it. I think this is because the connective tissue is also built up in the area and there is probably a bigger variety of fiber composition. Anyways, keep pushing the boundaries with your squatting and making progress!

Very true. Man you’re lucky. I’m Natty and well everything grows if I train it properly, but my chest is the most stubborn and same with my triceps. I need to train it around 3x per week and keep track of my sets and reps and specially the ones I go to failure and beyond failure.

Your legs improved a lot Wes. I just hope you keep on making them big and wide. Because when you cut, it'll shrink a lot. It will be ripped, but not enough mass compared to Top 5 classic competitor.

Doing this 2x per week gets you around 20sets per week for quads... But only 8 sets for hamstrings? This seems strange to me since its you're weak point? What's your thoughts here Wesley?

Yoo Wesley, any reason to place the feet so ''wide'' and ''high'' on the platform when doing Hack Squats? Are you feeling the quads better doing it that way or do you prefer a closer/feet lower stance to target the quads?

Techniques to save your knees: proceeds to demonstrate a bunch of shit exercises (smith machine squats, really??!!) that forces everyone, regardless of individual leverages and biomechanical differences, to move through a fixed range of motion, under extreme load. Stick to posing in front of mirrors m8.
