Lin has arguably the most compact and devastating backhand in the world. What is really scary about him is he also has very solid and consistent forehand which enables him to win lots of points with it. Though his playing style is backhand oriented, in reality he is a well balanced player. His most obvious improvement since he joined national team is he has greatly enhanced his forehand power and consistency so that he doesn't have to overly depend on his backhand. His off the table counter loops from both wings are thing of beauty. With all the tools he has and maturity over his age, Lin will be the top dog of China in a not long distance future.

Well said, just to add Lin is so nimble that he makes amazing saves, consistently putting the ball back on the table. This is not just moving faster, but accurately anticipating the opponent’s next move.

Think we're seeing another FZD coming up in the very near future. Besides his devastating BH, he's developed strong mid/far table defence and effective counters. This is NOT unleashing ALL of his abilities yet. Watch the next match (SF) against WCQ, it's exhilarating. Incredible and absolutely wonderful encounter. Thought LYJ's BH flick was the best in Diamond Singapore 2019 when he won the comp but LSD has broken the rule, how far can he go? All the best for LSD, congrats 👏

Lin's backhand is amazing. Cho made a lot of unforced errors, but he showed his potential too.

We don't see Xiang Peng anymore? Anyone an idea why?
