Unfortunately, he was onside due to the lineout extending beyond the 15 metre line thus eradicating the offside line for the outer players such as 7 black. Hope this litigious play by play helped in your understanding of the rules.

@David-ud9ju yes but unfortunately, when you know beyond a doubt that the ball is going to cross over the 15 metre line, you can then proceed to move in a forward motion, so long as you don't cross 5 metres into the line-out. 7 black did very well not to cross this line, and I commend him.
