I’ve a 2016 Galleria TT - ( 2 permanent beds ) bought new. Very happy w/ build quality and staff support back at the Factory, -0- problems in the 2 &1/2 years & my experience has been positive with cabinets and contents staying closed and contained. The Galleria is not perfect, but the small amount of issues that arise are really centered around maintenance. I do recommend this class B and would definitely buy another.

We went to dealership intent on a roadtrek. However, after touring & driving some roadtreks & other brands went with a 24Q Galleria instead. We loved the Amish woodwork & one side of coach entirely windows. There is no drivers seat refrigerator obstruction in the 24Q. The 4 person front lounge is great & we convert this front area into a roomy sleeping place for our teenager. Enjoyed your review!

Neil, thank you. Hang on to that independence..promote that independence as much as you can up high and at the end of your videos so viewers are really clear that you not being paid a dime by any of these companies. I watch some guys who do car reviews on youtube..Redline Reviews is one of my favorites. He's a young guy who is not at all afraid to say when things suck in a car. These car companies fly him and these other guys all over the world to review their cars. The car companies know they might take a hit from the guy but they dont care because he has over 500k subs, some of the others have over a million. These RV makers should love a guy like you, because only a couple of them produce good videos which are hardly objective. I still think you should expand out of class B's if you can just to give you a bigger pond in which to fish. Cream always rises to the top..and your reviews are the best of the best. I would love to see a great new review from you once a week at a time that I can look forward to.

I want Neil to succeed, but I think there’s lots of room in the Class B category to do that. The options we see in the USA are lacking. All I want is a four-season, rear bath (or at least driver-side bath), with positive locking drawers and excellent design. Neil can make a difference in an expanding market.

At this length I would think this van looses what makes a van appealing, easy maneuverability and stealth which are the main reasons for me to go to go with a B rather than a B+. At this length I would opt for the LTV or Phoenix which has an AWSOME new suspension system used on ambulances. Drove it at Hershey and was incredibly impressed. This is just my opinion and is worth what you pay for it. It is a lovely layout but I would like a permanent bed rather than the sofa especially if you need a mattress topper. I would change that opinion if they beefed up the memory foam. Fantastic review as usual! Thank you Neil!

I've driven probably over $2m in sales to Pleausure-way this last year simply because I video every episode out of the Ascent and they get so much exposure. I believe over a dozen sales happened because of my channel. At least that's what I hear from viewers who tell me that they purchased a Pleasure-way based on my channel. But I purchased my Ascent using my own hard earned money and PW is not a sponsor. I point out flaws with their coaches just as much as I do with others. Their CEO has called up me a couple times to let me know he didn't agree with a point that I made! But I've also had positive influence on them. They've changed and improved their products based on what I've said in my reviews so there's that. They understand that it's a tremendous honor for me to have selected the Ascent and for me to feature it in every episode. But I feel it would be a better service to viewers to change out my mobile studio every so often and try a new one on a longer term basis. Kind of like get a loaner from the manufacturer for a long term test. Only the most confident manufacturer would ever take me up on that offer I can tell you that! What do you all think?

It's very good review. I removed power reclining sofa and installed DIY twin beds (27"x80") which it can also make a full size queen bed (68"x80"). A couple of reasons I removed power sofa, because it was not comfortable even though I used 2" memory foam mattress, and I hated to crawl down when I have to go to bathroom in the midnight. Except it, comparing price with Airstream with the same layout, $50,000 cheaper for the similar quality. I agree that the one year warranty is the weakest selling point but I hope all problems will be occurred during one year. About the parking space, I used to park at the Walmart or other regular parking lot, I never had a problem with it.

It's nice. I'm surprised at the 1 year warranty. The sticks and staple construction is a reason not to buy Winnebago as well as their warranty. Glad you gave it a "consider" rating due to the poor warranty. Too long for me, but that's just my preference, I think many people like bigger. I did speak to a Winnebago Western Rep at a recent La Mesa RV show in AZ. I hammered them for their warranty and cabinet construction. Also mentioned your channel. He insisted you are paid by some RV company. Ha! I defended your honor.

As others have said, thanks again for the review. It seems like many owners and potential buyers like the Coachman Galleria and CrossFit but are concerned about the one year warranty. With the Galleria being available for under $100k and the CrossFit under $80k the thought of purchasing an extended warranty does not seem out of line. I'm too frustrated by the warranty. this coach deserves better! it's build quality *is not* built to a 12 month spec. I've seen coaches that are built to a 12 month spec and this isn't one of them. Take that for what it's worth Spell Madam. BUT I will say that 1) the build quality on this coach is good and 2) owners *seem* to be happy with the purchases and with Coachmen's customer support. That says a lot. Also, you *could* opt to separately purchase your own extended warranty although that would be a thing onto itself - one which I would need to do a full episode on because of its complexities. Suffice it to say that while I didn't recommend a "Buy" rating on this 2018, my rating on the 2019 model will likely be higher provided the price is right. I would definitely consider a Galleria if I were in the market for a longer, extended wheelbase Sprinter. I like many of the improvements that the 2019 model year brings. Coachmen is really doing some things that catapult it into the "product leadership" position - something that Roadtrek used to be the king of. No one else is doing the work to make a *true* 4 season RV and Coachmen has been smart out outsourcing its lithium system to Xantrex instead of trying to build and support their own proprietary system. I'm also impressed with their options like leveling jacks, sumo springs and 4wd. That 1 year warranty though is a tough one. I'd need to see how the build quality holds up over time. If it does, then Coachmen should definitely consider pivoting into the luxury category with their class Bs.

@@nickrecchio1676 "Customer satisfaction and Quality are our #1 Prority". Well that's fine to say but it's only words! There are automobile manufacturers out there that also have similar sales catch phrases and promises, but theres is not one person on this entire planet including you and everyone at Coachmen industries that would ever purchase even a 30k vehicle from any of them with only a 1 yr warranty. That's a fact! Yet you would attempt to convince potential buyers of your product to do that which you would never do and at at price point of 100k+!! I would argue that Coachmen and other rv manufactures fail to understand that one of their biggest buying demographic, the baby boom generation simple cannot take such a risk purchase. The average baby boomer in case the industry doesn't know has little to no saving heading into retirement to risk on a product they may have to dump 1000s of additional dollars into for repairs after that messily 1yr warranty expires. I am one of those baby boomers looking for a down sized class b coach who will not and cannot take such a risk with such a large some of income when other manufacturers are offer far more peace of mind and security with a real extended warranty opposed to the Coachmen 1yr warranty and words. I spent a lot of time in this coach at Hershey this yr. Its a great coach, but it's a no for me until Coachmen rethinks its philosophy and business model with regards to its warranty.

I prefer the 24FL layout with the galley on the camp side, but I love the excellent Xantrex electrical system. Based on the vans I've looked at, Coachmen quality seems to be the best in the class B segment for the price. However, a paltry 1 year warranty on a $100k+ coach is inexcusable. The industry standard should be 5 years of coverage, no matter the price point. That said, if I was in the market to buy a van off the lot right now, I'd probably buy a Galleria 24FL Li3, but I'm still slightly leaning toward a custom build.

Neil PLEASE keep weighing in WARRANTY LENGTH in your final judgement. I had a talk with a local RV dealer salesman who I've gotten to know and he shared with me that many Class B RV's reduce their initial price but give only a flimsy 1 year warranty knowing true well that something is going to go wrong or break that will require dealer service. Some of these services are very costly and frustrates the purchaser who is then offered a trade in on another RV before warranty expires. This is where the dealer makes some money back. He said, off the record, that 1 year warranty RV's are a red flag for potential problems down the line and perpetuates the slimy practice of nudging people into trade ins.

Good video as usual. Two big complaints you had, bed thickness and lack of positive locking cabinets, any idea on how hard it would be to fix them after you buy it?
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Jeffrey - there's nothing much you can do about the memory foam. you'd have to use a mattress topper which works. for the positive locking cabinets you can do this later but it will require you boring into the cabinet doors to put in the locking mechanism and screwing a receiving plate into each cabinet. not a huge deal and lots of people do this.

This is a question for Nick. I'm ordering a Crossfit tomorrow and I'm considering the upgraded insulation. Actually a three part question concerning the insulation upgrade. In his review Neil mentions a proprietary chemical used in its manufacture. What is nature of this chemical, is it a liquid, and if so what does Coachmen do to insure its stability? Side note: mention to Neil that I acquiesce concerning the 360 format, and apologize for my cheeky comment. Thank You

David yes we have made some tremendous improvements in how Class B's are insulated. In the end of June 2018 we switched to a rock based, non fiber, R-15 insulation that is impervious to moisture, has a 2000 degree burn rating and has inherent sound deadening as our standard insulation. The Upgraded Insulation application is called Phase Change. Phase Change is a latent heat storage solution. Phase Change is a plant based material with a proprietary chemical that absorbs the same heat or cold as a cinder block. You can find more on Phase Change technology on You Tube. When we changed our standard insulation in June we picked up 10 degrees of heat/cold retention vs. our old insulation. That was good but we wanted more. When we use the new standard rock based insulation in ADDITION to the Phase Change we picked up an additional 10 degrees of heat/cold retention for a total of 20 degrees difference. We still have the windows to fight thermal transfer of heat however we feel from our testing that we have now the best insulated Class B products in Class. Feel free to reach out to me David. nrecchio@forestriverinc.com. Thank you for your business and welcome to the Family!
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Nick, have you all done longer term testing of Phase Change? How does its ability to retain heat/cold hold up over time. Does it loose its ability over time? I've heard stories from some home owners that have used the stuff that report that it works great at first but then becomes ineffective over time.

Another question maybe for the President of Coachmen that watches this site: If a Galleria is ordered now, will it have the new Mercedes 2019 chassis? If not, when can the new chassis be ordered?
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Jay you can likely specify that when you order. however, I haven't seen their pricing yet for the 2019 chassis. it's likely to be at least $7,500 more than comparable models on the current generation chassis. that's just the actual markup from Mercedes on the updated Sprinter chassis with all the safety features that Coachmen (may) decide to use.
@nickrecchio16766 жыл бұрын
We have a few 2018 chassis remaining. After our 2018's are scheduled we will be bringing in our 2019 Sprinters with all the new features!

I went to a coachmen dealer and he found out that it does have autostart with the upgrade, on the 2019 model.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Shirley there are two generators: the old fashioned one that's a generator set that runs off LP and an under hood generator (second alternator) that's installed in the engine compartment as a part of the LI3 upgrade. the old fashioned generator does come with autostart but if you upgrade to the Li3 system they remove the old fashioned generator and install the underhood generator and that doesn't have autostart because Mercedes doesn't allow Coachmen to install it on their chassis. Does this make sense? the Dealer should know the difference but maybe they are also confused.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
sorry Shirley one more clarification : the older model 2018s did have autostart on the underhood generator but Coachmen stopped that on all later model 2018's moving forward due to Mercedes telling them to do so. it may have been an older model 2018 that you were looking at.

It is surprising how poorly educated the sales rep's are at RV dealerships. The class B specialist knew less then I did at La Mesa and had to get a regional executive to answer my questions. Neil's videos make me more informed then the dealer. I was shocked, and let them know it.

Looking for 3 captain’s chairs-is the Roadtrek CS Adventurous the best option? Thx!!!
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
no I don't think so. it depends. the 2019 Galleria has more floorplans and is built to just as high a quality (perhaps higher). It's price will be less than the cs adventurous. but it's warranty will be 1 year compared to roadrek's 6 year. the galleria has true 4 season upgrade capabilities and has a better (in my opinion) lithium upgrade package. So if warranty is most desirable then the Roadtrek is the way to go but if price or 4 season capability or a better lithium system is more important then I'd say the GAlleria is the way to go.

Ultramobility: How concerned are you with the lack of positive locking latches on the drawers and cabinets? That seems to me it could be a potential deal breaker for some buyers.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
i'd need to try it out for a bit and see. you can't really tell unless you load up the cabinet with real world stuff and drive around. on my CS Adventurous there were no positive locking cabinets and I vowed I'd never purchase another RV that didn't have them. I consistently had to pull over to close the refrigerator door that flew open or to pull over to reattach the TV because the screw that held it to the wall vibrated loose and the tv was swinging around in the back. or pull over because a cabinet door opened and spilled out its contents. it got old. I haven't had that happen on my Ascent because everything positively locks.

Great review! If I understand correctly if you get induction cooktop and upgrade the generator you don't have any propane to worry about correct? That polar package looks super cool that and the insulation seems to be pretty cool! Tested 27 degrees below freezing that is pretty impressive!
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
Yes you could go propaneless but as I said in my video only if it’s not too terribly cold outside because the electric heating elements on the truma combi are not enough to keep the coach heated and really cold weather but if the weather is mild yeah you could certainly go completely all electric in this coach.
@crystaldwfan6 жыл бұрын
@@Ultramobility even if you have the polar package?
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
yep even with the polar package plus. the electrical heating elements are 2 800w elements I believe and in low enough temperatures you're going to need both running at full to keep the coach warm. That's 1600kwh. If you're battery capacity is 7,200wh then they could keep the coach warm for less than 7 hours before completely depleting the batteries. then you'd have none left over for anything else plus you'd be freezing. Propane is the only option with a high enough energy density to supply that amount of heat energy for a longer period of time.

A one-year warranty for such a large investment doesn't say much about the company's confidence in their products. Roadtrek has a 6-year warranty.
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
it certainly benefits Roadtrek to have a 6 year warranty. having said that their quality isn't any better and in fact in some cases is less than the Galleria's. But warranties are important and buyers can and should measure a manufacturer by their warranty coverage.

I don't know how certain RV companies stay in business😲 A $140,000.00 MSRP and a wapping 1 year WARRANTY, just don't get it🤓🤓🤓
@Ultramobility6 жыл бұрын
hi Steve. I think the problem with Coachmen is that they've set the MSRP for the Galleria too high. You can find them for much less as I found this one for just under $100k. That price is more in line with the warranty that they're offering. The challenge for Coachmen, in my opinion is that they are building a quality product *that deserves a longer warranty.* This manufacturer needs to decide where they're competing: price or quality. Right now they're stuck in between the two. Either go lower in price and compete with Winnebago or go up in price, extend the warranty and go head to head with Roadtrek. The build quality can certainly hold its own against Roadtrek. That's just my opinion but hey, I'm not running a large class B coach manufacturer so what do I know!

@@Ultramobility Thanks for your response. I have a problem with any builder of any RV with a one year warranty. Even ones in the lower price range. Especially considering a possible 10 to 20 year finance. When my purchase times come, I will be going Roadtrek/Hymer👍👍👍
