i should point out that no class b is true 4 season not even the galleria. it is better equipped than most for lower temperatures but because the discharge lines and tanks are outside they will freeze in low enough temperatures or when driving down the road in very low temperatures. those components would need to be up in a heated and insulated basement like you'd find on a class A in order to be considered truly 4 season.

@@Ultramobility Very true as temperatures below 5F (-20C) are going to cause problems. Sometimes retreat is a viable tactic. :)

@@Ultramobility Neil I believe The Galleria 24A is a true 4 Season coach as the Water Tank is inside the coach along with the water lines plus the Li battery system and The Truma Heating system. The Grey and Black tanks are in different places with most of the black tank being inside the Coach under the Toilet and all tanks are heated. Oh and the Black Tank is 19 gallons!

I love these touring coaches! Kinda a limousine camper hybrid. As you know I have the Midwest Automotive Designs Weekender MD4 Lounge and use the extra seats all the time. I take my parents, children and grandchildren on mini vacations all the time. I also use it to carry business associates. If you are ever sleeping in one in a hot area you will appreciate an air conditioner that's quiet and runs off batteries like the Coachman Galleria. They really should make the back bench seat a lot more comfortable for sleeping, you will need to carry a mattress topper and you will loose a lot of carger space. You can leave the bed topper draped over the back bench but seem like Pleasure Way is the big winner on rear bed comfort. I prefer the sink stove on the passenger side which both of these don't. I vote for Coachman Galleria in this review. Great Review!

Thank you so much for such details, this may be a repeat for some but I'm sure I'm not the only one that appreciates your honesty and inside information. I'm looking forward to hearing about outside storage and load capacity , people and "stuff" can add up quickly. I'm new to the search for knowledge before buying so even the smallest details counts. Storing hose and sewage hoses. Place for chairs and just basic needs. Also reliable awnings. I understand the inside steps verses the electric which could get hit is better. And a roof you can walk on for maintenance.

Good comparison and having just viewed a bunch of Era and Galleria vans its easy to see where the quality is. The Era is a lot of van for < 100k but the Coachmen seems to be far more robust - imho. We’re just about to drop some money on a Galleria 24 fl and want to thank you for your reviews which have helped us make this decision, (I’ve signed up as a Patreon by way of thanks and support). Keep up the good work and look forward to an in depth on the new Mercedes sprinter features when you are able?? Nigel & Ann

Great review! Very detailed. Question: if a van is equipped with an upgraded lithium batteries and solar package, does that eliminate the need for propane. To be more specific, I'm looking to buy a Roadtrek RS E-Trek. The website says that the E-Trek model comes equipped with 470 watts solar.. Is that sufficient to run AC, stove, etc. . Or do I still need a generator at some point? Thanks.

I really appreciate this video as a touring coach is certainly a consideration for me with two young grandchildren. I like the option to use the coach for touring as the kids get older (possibly to out of town sporting events or something similar) while also being able to overnight somewhere with my wife. I really wish the Galleria offered 3-point belts in the back, and the ERA 70X offered head rests in the back.
@Ultramobility5 жыл бұрын
I know right? The galleria has has headrests but no three pt Seatbelts. The Era has three pt Seatbelts and no head rests.

@@rammovva4424 I am investigating the same thing. Roadtrek and ERA 70X offer 3pt with one mounted to the side wall and the other mounted to the back wall. Makes me thing that there is not a hidden standards based 3500 mount location and then maybe you have to affix a metal mount anchor behind the wall. My neighbor has a roadtrek, so was going to see if you are able to see behind the wall and get a better idea how they mounted the anchor. I called a few different companies locally in Austin and Tucson about installing after the fact and no one wants the liability. It seems like it would be an easy add.
@rammovva44243 жыл бұрын
@@ryancondon95 got it thank you..yah seems most dealers decline to install seat belts or other accessories for liability reasons..which model roadtrek your neighbor has ? RS ? It seems to be the only one in that class (4 front seats) that is on the shorter 3500 (22’ 9”) and not on the extended sprinter one..I am waiting on the 2021 RS model if at all they have one..

Ultramobility What is the possibility of comparing some of the “best of the best?” For instance, it looks as if one company is doing several of the coaches (Irok, Great West - apologize that I do not remember names offhand) and they do good work and fine design. How would they compare with, say, PW? And I love that you are including some other Canadian designs/vans. Finally, since PW and LWV make B+/C vans, would I think of including some others with similar designs, ie, Tiffin, the larger Coach House, et.al.? Again, better quality coaches with innovative ideas. Always looking forward to your reviews. Some good products now being made. Thank you!

Hi Neil. Just one correction on your review. The back captain seat next to the sliding door on the Winnebago Era is a two point seatbelt and not a three point. I personally don't care for diesel engines. I refuse to pay $300 for an oil change and other repairs and parts are priced in the thousands of dollars. That kind of takes away from the cost savings of travelling in a camper. Gas engines are much cheaper to fix.

I agree. I won't buy a sprinter with diesel. There are states where you can't buy the proper fuel mix for Mercedes Sprinter. Also repairs on MB is more difficult then gas engines.
@tomearly61655 жыл бұрын
David murling I have had 3 diesels and ordered a forth and have never spent a dine of engine repair, what diesel critics always seem to miss is the abundance of torque at much lower rpm which makes driving these heavy vehicles so much more relaxing.

@Ultramobility5 жыл бұрын
yes i mention that the memory foam is pretty thin on both these; that the bed is slightly larger on the era and that you'll need a foam topper for both to make them comfortable. they are designed for a couple unfortunately. you could buy an air mattress from the front seats to sleep a child.
