So far I've only had the time to watch the mowing, but I will be back to finish! So far, I gotta say, you are one of the few that I've seen who doesn't engage his mower deck at full throttle lol. Glad I'm not the only one. Thanks for posting!

Haha good eyes/ears to catch that! My manual says not to (engage/disengage blades at full), so I always try to make sure and follow the directions!

Not sure I like the POV camera position. I realize it’s a huge savings in time on-site over use of a tripod, though. Even set for wide screen, our view of your technique is lost. Plus, I enjoy an occasional shot of you talking to the camera - it’s part of your branding.

You can always get them some paint and paint their grass green or use die it would be awesome I never seen the door that was all dead. They must have sprayed with Roundup

1. I think the neighbors had the repossessed. 2. I thought you were going to edge then trim, then mow so you can go over the scraps of the lawn? Just 🤷♀️ confused?

An American on vacation in England, asks an English gardener how he gets his lawn so nice. Well says the English gardener, we cut it regularly, and we fertilise it regularly. That's it asks the American ? Well yes says the English gardener, Just do that for 1,500 years and yours will look nice too.
@91fox356 жыл бұрын
How do you charge for your cuts. See a lot of people do it by size, or just simply charge by how many minutes it takes like 1.00 to 1.50 a minute for a cut
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
Early in my first year I found something that talked about a 'dollar a minute' guideline. Lawn Care Millionaire also suggests that as a general rule, billing anything less than $40 per man hour makes it VERY tough to grow your business and have enough funds to do what you need to do. So I felt the $60 an hour range was a good place to start. At the beginning I just plain guessed. Like, I think this yard will take 30 minutes, so $30. After two or three of those I was able to compare the actual time and the square footage and get more scientific. At this point I am strongly targeting two neighborhoods with extremely similar lot sizes so I know my base is $35 for those yards and it goes up based on complexity or corner lots or dogs or blah blah blah. But I still aim for a dollar a minute with most of my estimating, and then add a 20 or 30% buffer depending on the job.
@91fox356 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly what I was thinking, I just wanna do as a part time thing, by the minute charging plus fuel/trimming makes good sense. Thanks for the replies by the way, keep getting that green👍

Have you ever used Echo equipment?
@CopperCreekCuts7 жыл бұрын
Hey man, good to hear from you! Been a minute! Only growing up, it is what my dad had for weed-eaters and blowers when I was a teenager and had to do lawn chores :) The stuff I use now was selected only because it was the cheapest that got the job done. I didn't want to spend $$$ to start the business until I knew I would stick with it and until I needed the better equipment.

Good video and work! what happened to the neighbours yard?
@eiserntorsphantomoftheoper21547 жыл бұрын
They sprayed herbicide on it. They are going to put in new sod.
@CopperCreekCuts7 жыл бұрын
Ima has it. It is tough to see but there were several large landscape beds that were removed. The lawn and grass that was left was pretty low quality, and the new homeowners wanted to just start over. So like Ima said, they torched it to lay down new sod.

Somebody burned the hell out of that yard. Me personally i like to use big rolls of black poly film then a nice dethatch to collect all the deadstuff then onto some deep aerations and heavy overseeding.

Please explain why you seem to do everything opposite of how best it should be done? By edging first, trimming around known areas that the mower can't get to and then mowing which clears up a lot of the grasses trimmed you then finish with blowing the pavement areas. In some cases you can blow the trimmings into the grass area to be cut up by the mower thus not having large amounts of the trimmings that are then blown into the yards. Just my observation of several of your videos. If I were any of those customers I would be complaining for sure of your sequence of workings.
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! This was a weekly and bi-weekly account, so nothing was overgrown (which would mean very large clippings from string trimming/edging). Additionally, here in Florida grass clippings disappear in a matter of hours, so there is little risk of complaints by mowing first, string trimming, edging, then blowing.

What are you average prices for most lawns
@CopperCreekCuts6 жыл бұрын
$35 is my starting price for lots (turf+house) that are near a quarter acre. I try not to get yards much larger than that since I am not a good value on bigger yards due to my 36" mower.

Smaller yard smaller machine.simple sense.no bagging just blow.i think you may want to try that.this yard is not made for riders.
