At my bank we only send tax forms are Redeemed CD's, never heard of paying taxes on active cd's. Just a side note: my husband has MS and noticed when he went back to drinking diet/zero sodas his issues started flaring. Did some research and several people reported that the sodas cause MS mimicking issues. He stopped them and switched to Zevia drinks and his issues went away. Look up Zevia because they have a cola flavor, no sugars, colors, aspartame and taste very similar.

I always use my Chase Sapphire Reserve for rental cars and it paid off! I was involved in a non-fault accident that totaled the BMW I rented. Enterprise took a $500 deposit from me when swapping out the vehicle and then sent a bill later for $47k. The credit card benefit refunded me the $500 and paid off the $47k without any need to involve my insurance company.

Wonder if the LT CD tax treatment has to do with whether you elect to receive monthly interest paid back into your checking/savings account vs. letting it accrue within the CD and receiving the cash only at maturity

Re: Google Fi - Terasa is incorrect. If you are in the Military (or State Dept abroad job), you have to verify every 9 months (not 90 days) via SheerID ... and it's a simple process. However, if you are a typical civilian using Google Fi, you're limited to 90 consecutive days before you receive a suspension notice.

Typically, you need to pay taxes on yearly gains on cds just like interest on a savings account. I did not have to pay taxes this year because the gain was below $2500

Totally incorrect if you made 2500 in interest you owe taxes on 2500:in interest However maybe your total income was low and that is the reason you didn’t owe tax , but the interest income should have been listed

@Clark Also on the Car Rental with credit cards. For Domestic Car Rentals the limit is normally up to a 15 day rental. And the insurance on the Credit Card is secondary to your personal auto insurance. For International Rentals up to 30 days its Primary as pretty much all personal auto insurance does not cover international rentals. Also they exclude some high end vehicles. I had to take advantage of the coverage once. I was on Vacation in Colorado and drove to Cheyenne Wyoming to see a rodeo and while parked in the parking lot a huge hail storm came through. When I returned the vehicle I reported it to Avis. Avis provided the damage costs plus loss of use costs. I turned that over to my primary insurance company and the credit card company. My insurance covered the damages minus my deductible and loss of use cost. Then the credit card company covered the deductible cost and loss of use cost.

Furthermore, it has been shown in recent studies that drinking diet soda results in greater weight loss than drinking water. That's right, MORE weight loss than water. Don't believe me? My mom could drink a 6 pack of diet coke a day and lived to 90 with no decernabble health affects. I belive one of the artificial sweeteners have had a positive affect on controlling plaque and gum disease . I basicall gave up soda and fruit juices some 20 years ago and switched exclusively to water that i get from the tap . No bottles or cans . It took a while to brake the addiction but i did and now i prefer water as my primary beverage .. i rarely drlank water throughout my life. I do drink green and matcha tea and add honey as my sweetener thinking honey at least is a naturally produced sugar . My goal on trash wendsay is my trash can is maybe a quarter full and most times it is or less . That shows my lifestyle is sustainable and with that i am saving bunches of cash .

What changed my soda addiction was trying Kroger cola-flavored sparkling water. After drinking it a few times, I felt like it just sucked all the energy out of my chest and that's when I realized why they fill it so full of sugar and caffeine. It's to counter the effects of all that carbonated water in your system. I now drink only about 1 per month.
