I totally agree with your comments about volunteering. I see people on social groups complaining about not having friends and being lonely. Volunteering is what I always recommend to them. You may not meet someone that will become a life long friend, but you will make life long memories and it is a great opportunity to change someone’s life. The young and old are usually the people that will benefit the most from your generosity. I enjoy working with children because you are really affecting their future which also affects our future.

Clark is absolutely right about the teachers of retirement courses offered by community colleges. My husband and I attended one and the teacher was an insurance salesman of universal life policies. Follow his advice and check out the credentials - don't be a target!

Also... a lot of local radio shows which are "supposedly" about "financial freedom" are .... well... about talking up annuities. I call it an "annuity centric" world view.

35 years ago my daughter had to be transported to a local hospital. The bill was over $900 which is a lot of money but was REALLY a lot of money then. Not covered by insurance.

Clark needs to do a segment on the April 2024 solar eclipse and how hotels have been canceling booked rooms because they realized they could get much higher prices now.
@donna-n5h8 ай бұрын
Wow ! I didn’t realize hotels can cancel booked rooms. Thankfully it’s never happened to me .

Not in reference to the solar eclipse, but we have done a segment on hotels and Airbnbs canceling booked rooms because they realize they could get a much higher rate. The sad part was that they didn't even let the people know that their bookings were canceled. Thanks for flagging that it's happening again! We will consider it. 💚

Happened to me, reserved over a year ago and was told they would be remodeling and would have to close and cancel my reservation. Checked later and they were rebooking at 4 times what I reserved! I was able to find a room cheaper than my initial booking, not quite as good a location, but I know I'm lucky to have a room!

Clark is so correct about Private Equity...but it should actually be called what they used to be known as: "Robber Barons."

Clark , what about the retirement seminars with the free steak dinners . I’m very wary of “free stuff “ from past experiences. Let’s say with age comes wisdom.

Don’t go, not worth it, 99% are insurance agents or non fiduciary financial advisors pumping high fee annuities.

My son got into a car accident in Atlanta a few years ago and was bleeding from the head. He had his car towed and called an Uber to take him to the hospital because he was so worried about the cost of an ambulance.

I don’t use a cart 🛒 very often at Costco either. It’s so much easier to get around. If I know I’m buying something bulky then I get a cart.

This is a myth. Arriving to the emergency department by ambulance does not get you seen more quickly. The ER treats people in order of the severity of their condition, no matter how they arrive. 💚

Well Clark and Friends, I think you guys have too much disposable income. I go to Costco all the time and buy one item like that big bag of bathroom I put it in my cart and walk right out. It's not a problem for me at all. I have had a few people say wow what discipline you can walk in and get one item and walk out of Costco. I looked at them and say well. It's all I needed It's as simple as that ✌🏿
@Clark8 ай бұрын
Amazing discipline, Clarkie! This is how you do it. 👏👏👏 Some people have to use tips and tricks to keep themselves from overspending. 💚

I can't speak to most of what Clark says here - most of it sounds totally legit and cautious. I will say this though - text codes have little to do with strong passwords - they probably represent someone trying to get AROUND your password. And the caller was totally correct about inflation. It has nothing to do with stabilizing the economy and all about stealing purchasing power from the public.
