As a gold pleb main... i've had roughly 100 of these games at least. Feels fucking bad man. So what you think about the rework so far? I'm kinda bummed about the lack of Q burst (tougher to double jump) and how they were trying to add variety with how you evolve... but it's literally just Q then E, W or R last depending. I still can't get used to the removal of the W slow as well, which is probs the worst part about the rework imo.

I still like it overall, but some things weren't as exciting as I imagined (Evolving ult only gives you the nifty passive, which is cool and useful in certain situations but since you don't gain any more charges or duration it feels more gimmicky now, and the utility of a 3 charge 6 second stealth has been lost, I'm probably just bad with it though lol) The toughest thing for me to adjust to right now however, is that double jumping feels significantly harder, but I'm not sure if that is more because the flat damage loss on Q, or the fact that shields, heals and tanks are running rampant right now. If you are behind, It does feel too punishing when you go for a double jump on a 400Hp ADC, and your leap Q leaves them on about 10hp and Heal + Janna Shield puts them on about 800Hp effectively. I could just be building wrong, and I still assume my Q will finish off a target when I should be preparing to instantly auto after leap Q. With all that said though, Kha'Zix is still very powerful, his objective control is contested by nobody that I can think of, and his playstyle remains mostly the same. When the preseason settles down with all the broken shit right now (Vayne, LeBlanc, Colossus Tanks) it will become more clear whether Kha'Zix is in a good spot in terms of balance.

I said the exact same thing about the evolved R now... it really is kinda gimicky (really just for mobility and death bushing) As for double jumping, it's harder because of the two reasons you said, and the fact that armor pen got nerfed hella hard. Lethality is so bad (especially early) that i've seen a lot of Kha'zix players (Valkrin, for example) go straight AD items and only build Duskblade 5th item. I just hate the idea that they made lethality essentially 40% as effective as armor pen was, then by late game (everyone has level 18) it becomes as effective as it was, nothing more... because i totally want to wait to scale into late game when tanks and grouping become a nightmare. (although Kha'zix does feel a good bit stronger by late game scaling wise, especially his passive auto on squishies) Idk I guess i'll just have to wait until after the nerfs to tanks and shielding (like you said) to see where he stands balance wise. I'll be maining Shyvana until then :^)

What really annoys me about lethality/arpen is that im almost certain riot said it was meant to scale BETTER into the late game. I guess you can get more lethality now because runes and items give more, but as you said the full investment into lethality doesn't seem worth it. I think rushing Duskblade early is still good though, it still gives a solid amount of AD and the passive is fantastic. After that, I really don't know whats best, I like Deaths Dance as a 3rd item, and Triforce 5th. I think something that would make Kha'Zix feel 10 times better to play, and this is crazy to even suggest because Kha'Zix is in a really good spot, is his Q having more damage on low health targets, for example: Targets under 25% HP take 50% more damage from Q, BUT as compensation, Q does 25% less to epic monsters. I pulled those numbers out of my ass, but I think something like that would emphasize Kha'Zix as a cleanup assassin who can get insane reset plays, while still retaining his identity as someone you don't want to fight 1v1, without increasing his damage in all circumstances. Hell, a more suitable solution instead might be just to buff Lethality. I'm no good at game balance. With all that said however, I still think riot did a very nice job with the rework as a whole. They could of really fucked Kha'Zix up or give him some stupid minigame, but they managed to spice his kit up and make evolutions more situational.

I was always a huge fan of Deaths Dance on Khazix since the items release, and i miss my gunblade Kha'zix... but my in game name is "The BM Zhonyas" so i guess i still have that option :^) I think at one point his Q was an execute, idk i've only been playing since mid season 4. What you suggest is a pretty good idea, for sure, but if they did that then they would have to take something away that is much more significant than reduced damage to epic monsters. Honestly i support a full revert to armor pen, because the idea behind lethality is to make assassins less snowbally, when that's just what the role naturally does. Take that away along with reducing burst straight up, and you get current results like tank rengar (bruiser, whatever) or some people not even building lethality at all. These reworks were low key nerfs to the assassin class overall (the AD side of the class at least) because of how much armor pen got shit on... it's just that Kha'zix got the better end of the deal than most, as well as new jungle favoring him very well. I would honestly like to see how this version of Kha'zix would do with old armor pen instead of lethality.
