Full tour of Prince Julius (and Cosmo’s) stables

Impressive facility! 😍 I love that Cosmo, the barn cat, has his own place! 😁👌🏻It's really wild how similar Julius' movements are to Uniek's. I could spot her from afar among a herd of Friesians only by her walk. She was also great with kids and teens. I'm sure Lexi and Julius will have lots of fun together 🤗

Thank you. From Southern Indiana. Prince Julius is having to learn English. Goedzo =means well done, God job. Braaf means= brave, gallant. Words of encouragement he would have heard where was born since birth. Already this spring a new foal has been born attended by the owner, Rein who said after the delivery to a very exhausted mare and foal they heard . "Goedzo" The horses were treated with so much kindness and love. Given pats and strokes and many Goedzos. Queen Unique listened to who ever was riding her esp Yvonne. You can call the fenced in areas for horses “paddocks.” Where you ride inside is referred to as the indoor arena or just the indoor. Julius is a great example of the Friesian character that is so admirable. They do want to please and support their people. Starting from scratch and learning good habits is really preferable to having to unlearn bad ones. You’re doing fine. 💜

He knows she is a beginner and is being so careful with her, a very kind horse. He refused to budge with you because he would have sensed how insecure you felt and did not want you to come to harm. My mare would do the same with some beginner riders, if she felt they were feeling too overwhelmed and scared. She was also so careful with beginners, but once she felt they were ready for a bit more of a challenge she would give it to them, but only so much as they could handle. She was a wonderful teacher, and Julius seems to be the same. Horses are really incredible. You bought the perfect horse for your kid.

Yes! Uniek was gentle and kind with beginners, didn't mess with Boss Rein on rides and felt comfortable letting Yvonne know when she wanted to go home or go faster. She'd ultimately listen to Yvonne, but they had a friendship that allowed Uniek to offer input. Yvonne and Uniek were together a long, long time. ❤

I think everyone here loves seeing Julius, and would love to see more of him. But don't let that pressure you. You do you, and whether we're getting 2-3 videos a week or just one every few weeks, we're always going to be happy with it. As for content... I think Slice of Life is key. Casual everyday moments. Julius getting taken out of his stall and to the paddock. Julius getting fed, or getting treats. Julius getting brushed, and getting cared for. And if he has stable mates and their owners are okay with it, we'd definitely love to see them as well. If you're looking for big highlights, that'd be trail rides if those are a thing in your neck of the woods, and of course any and all vet/farrier visits as long as that's okay with your vet and farrier. :)

That green saddle pad looks great on black Julius. The individual fenced off spaces are paddocks. (I'm in the USA - we call them paddocks here, as well). As others have said, Julius is used to Goedzo and Braaf. We learned those words through the Friesian horse channel. Btw, their website shop has Goedzo apparel. 😁 (Also Boefke - which is often applied to the younglings - rascal).

Upfront, horse head video, to see and show the difference in each horse that Julius has contact with. That would be great.. This is how we have learned with Yvonne. Appreciate that. You happen to know if KZbin has a function or AI that does that easily? I’ll google it a bit. Not sure it makes a bunch of difference in the end. One of the side-effects of having a car hobby and driving exotic cars around is that everyone takes pics and videos and posts them on the internet, and none of those are going to be blurred. Only difference here is that my voice is added. So I think it’s just something I have to live with. Only bad parts are when people try to follow me home. Good news is I can outrun anyone and typically see it happening. My trick is to pull around in a cul-de-sac and that way when they follow me in I end up staring at them head on and they get that I know. Then they just scurry off.

How did you decide to purchase Julian? Does Lexi have horse riding training prior to this? Did you purchase Julian without seeing him first? Did you know he was the son of Uniek and did that influence your decision?

Honestly, we ended up with a really good dog because we knew the breeder would be important and we took our time to find the right one. So when we decided on a horse, we figured it would be just as or even more important to make sure we got a good one (even for my daughter’s safety). The stable had a Friesian for a bit and we thought it was beautiful so we found a broker and decided to search for the perfect Friesian for us, one that had already had experience which would mean he was more trained and less skittish. The broker recommended Julius to us and we purchased sight unseen. We have learned his back story since and are obviously grateful and proud of our good fortune in getting paired with Julius.

*Goedzo and Braaf are words that Prince Julius will be used too... with lots of pats... and heaps of butt scratches. One thing re videoing is the sound... I am not sure what camera or cell ph you are using... but in this video is that the wind was muffing out the sound in some parts. You will become more comfortable when you do lots more filming and talking, but you are doing Goedzo.. My other suggestion is watch Yvonne riding in all her videos to get the correct riding position too, as riding a Friesian is different to riding other horses. You will note that she and other Friesian riders always keep a straight upright back & not leaning forward. Give Julius a pat from me 🙂.*

Thank you for sharing your family and life with us. For KZbin videos, I have noticed that they are all taken in landscape mode except for the "shorts". A lot of people use GoPros when they are riding so they can narrate while riding. Longer videos are great. For me, the perfect length to watch is about 10-12 minutes. But, you are doing great for being a new KZbinr. As they would say in The Netherlands, Goedzo.

If you didn't know just before she passed, over at Stal H Queens Uniek's very last foal was born surrogate to a wonder Mare called Corrella. She was a Filly name Belle. Amazing place you have there and thank you for showing it to us. Julus has to learn a new language so be patient. Maybe Yvonne of Friesian Horses can let you know more than the Goedzo and Braaf I know! Those fenced areas are called paddocks in the UK but I think you in the USA call them “corrals”, “enclosures”, or “pens” Videos can go on for as long as you want if it's instructive or beautiful walks. My son greatly benefited from Horse/Hippo therapy when he was younger. After his spinal fusion surgery he can’t ride anymore. But still enjoys being near the animals for the most part. I think he likes car rides better. Fur sort of bothers him.

Be careful. The nose whiskers should not be trimmed. I do not know if this is s breed standard or something important for the horse.

I will certainly be an expert at all the resources they consume. But hey, it’s all worth it. And yea, Cosmo lucked out. He showed up at the right place as a stray, and we didn’t trust the humane society to not euthanize him, so we looked for options until my daughters friend offered that he should just live with the horse.. that made sense and fortunately the family who owns the stables agreed to take him in, and now he runs the place and everyone loves him.

Thank you for taking the time to share this beautiful horse paradise with us and I personally could never find a video too long especially when it shows Prince Julius, especially after the loss of Queen Uniek ❤ When you first walked into the stabling it had such a warm and welcoming feeling, the horses who spend part of their lives in there must feel so cozy and comfortable. Hello Cayden (hoped I spelled that correctly). Nice to see you. Hi to Cosmo, the stable cat. Every respectable stable needs a good cat. Smaller fenced in areas are called paddocks. Paddocks are usually for 1-2 horses. Large fenced in areas are called pastures & can be for dozens of horses depending on the size. General rule of thumb is 2 acres per horse to prevent overgrazing. Lexi looks more comfortable & relaxed in her riding. Longer videos are great. Bet you never guessed that having Julius in your lives would result in such changes as a growing KZbin channel with thousands of subscribers having such an interest in your horse & family. You’re doing quite well considering you were unexpectedly thrust into the spotlight.

You're doing a good job with the videos. I'm also new to your channel. I'm sure you have but I'll ask anyway,have you watched some of Yvonne 's videos? My first was the one where Uniek gave birth to a stillborn Star and Risey 's mom had passed giving birth to him. Uniek and Risey were brought together from tragedy but automatically fell in love with each other at first sight! My favorite part was of Queen Uniek "dancing " with excitement when Prince Rising Star was brought to her in her stall. Ugh,she was such a good mom. 💙💙💙
