0:44 Not between 2008 and 2015 unless one counts non-circulating coins. The 50th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings is certainly one of my top designs and I am proud it features as one of two pre-1997 50p pieces in my collection, the other being a 1981 'New Pence' inscribed Britannia reverse.

The D Day one of these is also my all time favourite 50p and I'm lucky enough to have this coin along with the two Britannia ones.

You're wrong about the D Day Landings being the 2nd rarest pre 1997 coin to enter circulation. it is only the 2nd rarest variant as the 1985 50p only had 682,103 minted for circulation.

You're certainly right if your break the coin down by year as well as design. In this video we're just looking at the coin design.

Got the UK EC presidency coin in 1993 which started my love of collecting 50ps. I have now collected every UK 50p coin that has been released. Still my favourite though has to be that 1993 coin that started it all.

The 5p and 10p coins were issued in 1968 as part of the build up to decimalisation, but the very first 50p coins were issued in 1969.

Hi! The 2004 Battle of Trafalgar 50p comes from Gibraltar and commemorates the 300th Anniversary of British Occupation. As this is a British Isles coin, we don't know the mintage figures, but due to the smaller population these coins generally have much lower mintages than UK coins. I hope that helps!
