I just started my curl journey as the kids say within the last few months...I've been wearing my hair in a bun (and doing plenty of damage I'm sure) for a straight 20 years because I always thought my hair was a frizzy mess and nothing could fix it. You are really helping me to realize my curls don't suck, I just wasn't doing it right. I'm still not great at all the different routines, but I'm getting there. I still hate waiting for my hair to be done diffusing, it feels like I'm at it for a year, but maybe that's just how it is. I just bought my first hair dryer a month ago, hopefully I'll get more patient as I use it. Thanks for all the tips!

Same here. Just mom buns and headbands, but now she is grown, and I'm almost 50, so it's time to focus on me again.

In a previous video, she mentioned shaking the root after pulling the brush thru them, but before you brush all the way to the end. When she is styling her twin (friend really). That has helped me a lot with root definition. Good luck! ❤

I honestly cannot remember how I got to your channel but I’m happy I did! I’ve been embracing my curls fully for about 15 years and honestly you can never stop learning. We are constantly updating techniques and products because of weather, length, and our ever changing bodies/hormones! I appreciate your detailed content of how to and why based on your experience. Thank you so much for your willingness to share! ❤❤ Congrats on reaching 100k. 🎉🎉

I found you about 2.5 years ago when Swavy Curly Courtney tried the viral flip section method on her KZbin. About a week later you ended up posting your first KZbin video detailing that method which is how I found you and have been subscribed since you first uploaded that KZbin video! I adore your hairstyles videos as you make wearing your natural texture so fun and interesting! Congrats on reaching 100,000 subs!!!

Congrats, Sophie, on 100K. I watched your first KZbin video ever after it was mentioned by Gena Marie, and I've been watching ever since. I've gotten a lot of good ideas on techniques, hair styles, and products from you. Thanks so much for your content! I like the way you sectioned your hair in this video, though at the moment my hair is too short for sectioning. 😄 I asked for "short" for the summer and stylists always underestimate how much my hair will shrink cause my curls are much looser at the crown. The plus side is that it's super easy to take care of right now! 😄 Thanks again for your content.
@have3kidstoo7466 ай бұрын
I commented on the first video of your flip section. Too much shrinkage! I started doing exactly this!! Brushing the bottom layer like you're doing, and the other sections like you're doing. This method has been working fabulous! Thanks for the video! 😊

I wonder what your thoughts are on the Bouncecurl volume brush. I know you liked the original. It seems like it does the job of the defining brush and the comb all at once.

Congratulations on 100K subscribers Sophie, well deserved! 🎊💛 I like to clarify my hair every other wash day to keep from having product buildup issues but lately I've been doing so every day I wash my hair. The summers are brutal in the area I live and I also have an oily scalp, not to mention I'm also a gym rat.

Hope you can do a video for those of us without as curly hair as you. I bought a foam and have no clue if I should have. No I want cream or gel or foam. I have light curls not ringlets. Been loving your videos! Just found you a few weeks ago.
@crystal68116 ай бұрын
I love using a foam. I didn't start out with very tight curls or even curls, but the more I try the styling techniques and different products, the better my curls have become. I use a leave-in, heat protectant, curl cream, and then the foam. Brush style all that into your hair. Scrunch in a gel after brush styling. Then, defuse. I hope you keep at it because I know you will start to see the results you are wanting. Good luck, curlfriend!❤

Omg 😱😱😱 I was wrong all that time !!! I always thought that you must brush with the tangle teaser brush or another by moving the brush on the side where my hair will curl the most…I changed sides so many times that my hair became so frizzy ! On my next wash I will try your method 😎 Thanks for sharing all your tips. You deserve those 100k followers and more 🫶🏼

Hello from the U.S.! I just stumbled across your channel in the last couple days. Curious if you've done a video on how your stylist cuts your hair - really struggling with finding someone who knows the best way to cut and shape naturally curly hair (without paying a ton of money).... Thanks for sharing your videos!

I wish my hair was thicker. I have fine, low density hair, and a range of curl patterns. It's a mess. 😭 I've tried following Gena before, but I can't seem to style my hair because it gets so knotty, even if wet. I'm going to try this way, though. The problem with living in Australia is that we don't get good brands like Curlsmith here.
