My ex-husband ended up in rehab more times than I could count. I was the one who always ended up taking him, even after I married my 2nd husband. The last time was really bad. We ended up cleaning his house, and it looked a lot like the one you cleaned. It's was awful and so sad! He's doing great now, going to his meetings, and keeping his house clean. He apologized profusely to us. I just told him to please stay sober.

@kaydotz yes! I still worry on the daily. We share a son together, otherwise he wouldn't be a part of my life. My husband now has the patience of a Saint. My son still has a hard time truly forgiving him. It's all he's known since he was a baby. Seeing his dad drunk then rehab. My son is 23 now and can only spend one day a week with him. He hasn't built up trust yet

Mine husband died at the age of 57. He was an alcoholic but extremely tidy. He had four types of cancer at the end. He could have had longer but refused to stop smoking and drinking. It’s hell being married to an alcoholic. The effects are still here even though my children are in their 40’s

Tragedy and illness can lead to a life that is out of control. I have empathy for this person who is obviously hurting. You are a big part of their recovery. Yeah, that looks cool. I have a super hard time bending over because of spinal arthritis, so mopping is typically just a pass with a Swiffer Wetjet (hate that thing). I'm going to try really hard to get myself down to where I can do small sections of at least the kitchen floor with a scrubber and a squeegee, see what that does for my "want it CLEAN!" sensibility.

So glad you wear a respirator to protect yourself.👍 Auri will not.😢 Just picking up all the trash made a BIG difference. Then you work your magic cleaning and make everything look new. 🥰 This is a studio apartment so basically 2 rooms, and he threw trash everywhere for years... then he stepped on everything. SO clever to scoop up all those empty cans in the bathroom with a tall kitchen trash can! That bathroom was disgusting! The combo kitchen/living room/bedroom looks brand new after Queen Barbie cleaned it. Amazing. I hope he is in therapy because he needs to understand the root of his depression so he can live a healthy life. ❤

I know it’s a pain in the b@tt but glad you can recycle the aluminum cans. In CA we have redemption value and can get a percentage back from the 5-10 cents crv charge per bottle/can. It adds up! Great job as always Barbie on the spectacular job!👏👏👏👏

The situation where a series of blows can destabilize you resonates with me completely: I lost my father-in-law, my father, and my mother-in-law, all of which I loved dearly, in the span of one and a half years. I have nearsightedness so I hardly notice dirt on my floor. I walk barefoot so that I notice. But had I not had help (and firm boundaries to avoid alcoholism), it could've gotten just like this, only in a different place. I wish the best to the owner! You do such an amazing job, and these people are so fortunate to have you help them. I hate to see you doing so much scrubbing, save yourself a little bit of work and place a pretty wet warm washcloth or towel on areas with heavy material build up, then go clean something else and come back. A lot of those things will come up much easier and you won’t be doing so much scrubbing.

I would say that she's one of many---you can't leave out Auriikatarina, Mack (Midwest Magic Cleaning), Caz and Tee in the UK, and a whole host of others. Barbie has done a collab with Mack, so she certainly knows there are other cleaners just as skilled as she is, and just as compassionate.

Hey Barbie, I don't know if you've ever tried this but I swear that liquid dish detergent (not dishwasher detergent) is great for cleaning even the nastiest sinks and tubs/showers. I use a scrub daddy with dish detergent and some bleach or product containing bleach if needed. For cleaning stuff like you tackle, if nothing else it would be cheap to get the bulk of grime off with dish detergent then use the more expensive cleaners to tackle stains and hard water issues❤

I used to be able to destroy mold n mildew in bathrooms easily when i could buy Purex bleach. They stopped selling it and other bleach don't work the same at all. I wish i knew why they removed Purex.
