Full video: Port Authority commissioner confronts police during N.J. traffic stop

Caren Z. Turner, a Democratic lobbyist from Tenafly, has resigned as a commissioner from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after an investigation was opened into what agency officials would only describe as "profoundly disturbing conduct." Turner's resignation allegedly involved her intervention in a recent traffic stop in connection with her daughter. Turner apparently flashed her Port Authority badge in an effort to intercede with police officers on the scene.

Upon resigning Caren wrote an "apology" letter in which she actually wrote, "At no time did I suggest, in any way, that I would use my Port Authority position to affect the outcome of the violations issued to the driver." No, Caren, you just used your position to berate, insult and demean two police officers who were just doing their jobs. - The Port Authority said her letter was a "non-apology apology" and if she didn't resign, she would've been fired.

Ironically, the police officers are public servants not Caren Turner. The Commissioner position is an unpaid voluntary post. Caren is actually the founder and CEO of a company and was a university professor and is an attorney. She was also the President of a women's rights charity. She is not a politician nor a true public servant. You have to be a 'big shot' to be appointed to that position but it's voluntary. .

Say you were pulled over for something, and some random person walked up to the officer and asked why you were being stopped and to explain why you were being ticketed and what for.
