Kenmore washers of this vintage are definitely keepers! My paternal grandmother had a late 60's Kenmore 800 with the same VeriFlex Agitator, bleach and fabric softener dispensers and the waterfall detergent dispenser. It had a magic self cleaning filter which yours should have also since it doesn't have the "waterfall" style manual filter. The entire control panel had three round clear faced knobs with the indications on the face instead of the rear panel. Had the variable water level with reset function plus extra rinse and a suds saver. Adjusting the VeriFlex was always difficult but even me at five years old back in the early '80s, was able to do it fairly easy with two hands as you show. It was always set in the notch to the left of HI all the time and it did a great job. She only used the Normal 14 cycle and always did about 4 to 5 loads with the same wash water starting with whites and ending with darks. Never ever used bleach or additives in the wash except for fabric softener which was always put in manually when the machine had a few inches of water in it and the clothes were still "spin stuck" to the sides of the basket. It was left in the home when my grandparents moved in 2000 and I really wished I had snagged it for my own house. It probably would have still be running perfect; these were made like tanks! I have many memories of it and this machine you are showing reminds me of the noises it would make when running. It did have more of a louder and solid "woo woo" when running. The noises would always put me to sleep even on the most restless of nights! Anyway, thanks for sharing this on your site!

I’m sorry buddy, you got to save this one. This is one of the coolest old washers you have in your collection. I like this one better than your 1964 Turquoise Kenmore you have in your personal collection. That Vari-Flex Agitator REALLY rocks. And why don’t you show the cockpit/control panels on your machines like everyone else? Good thing I’m sort of familiar to these old Kenmores. This is an ABC Alphabet Washer (the next step below the 1972 Keyboard Lady Kenmore (another machine I would like to see sometime down the line)). When I saw that Vari-Flex Agitator on THIS machine, that’s what I thought this was, a Lady Kenmore. Oh well.... This one’s a nice one too.... Does the panel light up?? Or does the timer control have a lighted back guard? And does it have a Quiet Pak as well? -Charles-

what is quiey pak? my 1998 maytag dc says quiet pak, but it is a loud machine on normal cycle.
@DADoESofTX5 жыл бұрын
@@jessebelfast424 The full QuietPak package involves several changed components from the standard design. 1) A special motor pulley with a rubber bushing to isolate motor vibrations from the shaft to the belt. 2) A different design on the rubber grommets that mount the motor to the two brackets that attach to the baseplate, helping to isolate vibration resonance from the motor to the baseplate, tub, etc. ... and the motor brackets are different to accept those grommets. 3) A different, thinner v-belt that is not notched. 4) Matching pulleys on the transmission, basket drive, and pump to accept that belt. QuietPak was featured on Lady Kenmores for several years and a few lower Kenmore models such as the one of Eugene's video. Whirlpool used it on their top-of-line Imperial Mark XII for a few years and some of the early 18 lb capacity models when they were "special" in the line. The 1976-77 LDA9800 Imperial Mark 18 model and electronic control models LFA9800 (1978-79) & LHA9800 (1980-81) used the special motor-mount grommets but *did not* have the thinner belt (or pulleys for it). I don't know if any Kenmore models went that route toward the end.
