Love these! Can you speak a bit more about how you lower your heart rate? I've only just started my running journey a few months ago and focus on quite a bit of zone 2 training, but MAN it's SLOW lol. I would love to hit higher paces in my zone 2, but I know it's a process to work on your heart rate + VO2 max.

Do a speed / track session per week. Something not so hard in the beginning like 10* 400 on 80-90% pace. Work your way up to 20* 400 with a 60-120 second break in between. Depending on your distance go do 800 sessions or a variation 3*1200, 3*800, 4*400 with 2 min rest etc. Something really effective is also hill sprints. Start with maybe 4-5 and work your way up. In combination with zone 2 training you’ll get your heart rate down in no time 🫶🏼

On another note, breathing techniques can help in the moment if your heart rate goes high.

Never stop doing these videos I absolutely love them as someone who just started running and also goes to the gym these videos are so helpful and always a reminder to not stress if you miss a workout or switch things around, went to the gym today and was so busy meant to be upper body but not a single machine was free! Ended up just doing cardio even though I did a run a couple of hours earlier but still better then nothing!❤️

Finally got a whoop after seeing how much you’ve loved it. Was wondering whether you use it to track your training or whether you find that there’s another trackable that’s more accurate for heart rate/run pacing etc? Any advice would be amazing!

She uses a Garmin Fenix 6 to track workouts (from what I understand, whoop isn't best used for this). I got the Garmin Forerunner 55 recently and the price tag is much more affordable but it does have some limitations for multi-sport athletes (e.g. open water swim, cycling VO2 Max tracking, FTP, triathlon, etc)

She uses a Garmin watch for workouts and the Whoop for daily recovery and lifestyle data. The latest Garmin watches can basically do both very good. I myself have a Garmin Fenix 6 and use the Body Battery and HRV data tot track my recovery and I find it accurate. (but I do admite, a Whoop band is starting slowly but surely to pick my interest).

hey Lucy, this is the first video of yours i've ever watched and i actually really enjoyed it. i think the most impressive workout you did was when you did the pull-ups with the weight attached to your waist. to me, the video seemed like it had a fast pace to it the whole time, just always on the go, on to the next thing, you know? i'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just an observation i had, that's all. i'm a new subscriber to your channel and i'm also subscribed to Nuttyfoodiefitness too.
