I have a FG830 CE which has a nice pick up. I really like it. I sold a takamine guitar that I didn’t like to get my yamaha. I don’t use picks, so I want heavier gauge strings. I also had ebony bridge pins installed which I feel makes my guitar sound better. If you are thinking about an acoustic you can afford then grab this one.

Awesome video man, Btw I need your help in selecting a guitar, i already own squier bullet strat(hss). I need something better that stays in tune with whammy use. Which guitar would u suggest under 250 usd? Jackson js22 dinky, ibanez gsa60 or grx70qa, or anything other than that? Is it really worth to buy these guitar when i already own squier bullet? And if not, i would like to buy a hardtail guitar like epiphone les paul special or some telecaster style , i am just confused, can you help me in this situation ?
@guitaristnextdoor843011 ай бұрын
Thanks! From the 3 cheap ones you mentioned, I would personally go with the Jackson, it had the best hardware quality and tuning stability on my use. But it's still a cheap guitar and there's a risk of receiving one with a bit lower-quality hardware. With a bit more expensive hardtail guitar, like Epiphone Les Paul Special, the risk of tuning issues is smaller. Both a bit higher quality hardware and the fact that there's no whammy bar affect this. Check this and the graphite applying tip: kzbin.infoebMV76j6DVM?si=LQkfmz9ut2nyNBaE it's at least worth testing with your Squier. With all the options you mentioned, I would probably get a bit more expensive guitar that has or doesn't have a whammy bar. Hopefully this helped, if you have any more questions, just ask!
@vivekvivek307411 ай бұрын
@@guitaristnextdoor8430 thanks for replying sir I have already did the graphite lubricant technique on my strat, it does help a bit but u can't dive bomb and stuff like that😅. I really like to play Steve vai, van Halen type music, and some metal too. What would you consider as an upgrade to my present squier? What would be the best choice to go to? the next level guitar to squier? Is js22 dinky or ibanez gsa60 or Pacifica 112j an considerable upgrade to squier ?
@guitaristnextdoor843011 ай бұрын
@@vivekvivek3074 for the music you described, I would choose Ibanez grx70qa or Pacifica 112J. But it's basically not a real upgrade from Squier in terms of hardware quality. And all the guitars you described are not big upgrades to Squier Bullet Srat. Have you thought about going to a music store with your Squier and asking if they would be able to help with the tuning issues? It might cost $10-$40 bucks but it's cheaper than buying a new guitar...ask for the price quote before letting them handle it so there are no unwanted surprises...
@vivekvivek307411 ай бұрын
@@guitaristnextdoor8430 thanks for replying, Yeah, I will try doing that. Maybe replace the nut to a higher quality. Thanks for the advice 😊
@guitaristnextdoor843011 ай бұрын
@@vivekvivek3074 No prob. Changing the nut could help and it will increase the sustain (and maybe even overall sound quality), so that's a plus. also if you visit the music store, you can ask if the string trees can potentially cause unwanted friction and prevent strings from returning to the right place after you use the whammy bar. Some gear reviewers have said that especially tight string trees can sometimes cause tuning issues. If you have any more questions, just ask!

The 800 series, including this fine guitar, have scalloped bracing inside to enhance vibration and resonance. I owned a FG720 before, now have an FG820. the 820 is much more resonant and rich sounding. Also the 800 series have a different neck profile and satin finish on the neck. Much nicer playing feel.
