What I agree with is Ronaldo askin how many times with this discussion, but realistically its not over 8 months it's how many times over the last 10 years, because I guarantee if you look back at your own clips, this convo has happened for EVERY manager in the last decade, no manager is coming in and changing anything until this ingrained mentality is chiseled away and not filtered down to every new signing we make.
@coconutzmilkАй бұрын
Facts! There's a reason players come and suddenly look bad. The opposite used to happen at this club where average players would look great. It's not necessarily coaching. It's the culture and the mentality. And until that changes, nothing will.

Does it not make sense after 10 years that maybe it's an ingrained mentality problem not a manager problem? The senior players in that dressing room set the tone for every new signing, im talkin Shaw, Rashford, and now even Maguire, these are the long term players and it only takes one of them to not like a manager to infect the rest of the squad, it's time we let these players know that they can no longer sack a manager and give them a choice....Play foe that badge or leave, then maybe we'll see change imo

They're a representation of people generally. People are fickle. I'll bet most of those whining right now were clamouring for him to stay after the FA Cup final, and they were also the same people who wanted him gone before the final. Watch any of these videos and you'll see many fans repeat the same thing that was just said in a video, but almost make it sound it was their own belief all along. It's all in the wording; it mirrors what was just said. And people are inherently lazy, so whatever the other guy just said is often enough for you say "yeah, what he said." It's that mix of laziness and needing to feel part of the group that we've these pathetically weak minded observations.

Liverpool had a poor start to Klopp's third season. Eventually it turned and performances changed around November/December I believe. If ten Hag starts getting results now and United can gain some momentum while keep working on the new game model which is different to what we tried in the previous seasons. It's no longer about being the best transition team. Jason Wilcox says it will be a possesion based game model. There has been very clear patterns of that this season and we need to give the team abit longer to implement every new players to this. Won't see any stability untill this structure has had some time tho. Might not be under ten Hag, but he sure can't be fired after 6 league games under a new structure and plan. Small margins would leave us in a much better spot. Just remove the least impactful offside I've ever seen. Convert one of the chances vs Palace and we would've been at 12 points.

@@sparkz_fly From a tactical point of view United battered Palace. The players didn't finish their chances so Palace got away with a draw. Against Everton Palace will play a different game. They will actually try and win the game by pressing and leaving alot more space behind. United created loads of attacks against a very compact Palace. Which looked promising. Patterns of possesion play are there. The first 4 games in the league United had the most possesion of everyone. The players have missed the most amount of big chances leaving United with 5 goals out of an xG of 10. The patterns of creating attacks thru drawing opposition to the side of the pitch where they create triangles and small play before they either play vertical thru the opposition lines or they switch it to the other side where there's loads of space after drawing the opponent over.

I studied sports science at university, was a p.e. teacher for 20 years and have coached dozens of football clubs ranging from under 5s, to open age to school of excellence. I dont have all the answers but one thing that baffles me is this talk that we have "good" players. We have "technically good" players. There are 4 pillars of sport when combined make great players and great teams. Utd have technically good players but they lack on the physical, mental and social spectrums. We are unfit, lazy, mentally weak and there are no togetherness. Look at the way we celebrate goals. The scorer is more concerned about their individual celebrations than pumping fists and celebrating with team mates. When we concede, we concede twice. The rebuild is bigger than getting skillful players. This is not going to be a quick fix. We need patience and we need to give the manager time to remove bad apples and to build trust, fitness, mental stability and confidence. You dont build a house on sand. You need solud foundations. It doesnt matter if he is the right manager or not for me. The players need to know that he is staying and if you cant addapt, you the player will mive not the manager. Once that penny drops, you will see that the players have no option orher than to follow the instructions. A reset is painfull and takes a long time. Not a couple of seasons but in some cases a generation. Never forget, this culture was built by the glazers who handed over the power to the players. Rome wasnt built in a day and we have more pain ahead but im here for the bad times aswell as the good times. Im happy to give Eric the time he needs to reset a culture (and the fact he's able to win trophies during that transition speaks volumes). Without a doubt. The is a squad issue, not a 10H problem. Why is Rashford still at United?
@Rob-pq4umАй бұрын
Players are sloppy and careless … just after spurs first goal.. Rashford was played with yards of space and an easy ball to thread into the box for striker to run into and completely over hit it… same against Liverpool first 30 mins we had 3 good opportune break defensive line and played sloppy passes that were intercepted…. These fine details have a big impact

Guyz, one thing we should understand a lot of people commenting here were either too young (including myself) or weren't even born to witness the glory days. It takes time, Sir Alex didn't inherit a good team himself, back then there were no social media shitting on him all the time. He had his time to develop and build. This club is a titanic, very difficult to steer, and we fans are also making it difficult for the team and manager. Feel free to critic the team, but let's not be toxic. Post Sir Alex, we only are always a couple of games away from crisis and sacking managers. This is the worst mentality. Losing is part of the process, but we will grow. Let's think big picture. I felt disgusted after yesterday's game, but there were no excuses. This team needs to step u, but I am gonna back them, I am against the concept of sacking every few seasons, tired of this merry go around. A lot of effort goes into making a team. let's not be armchair managers. Do u think every human being in the world is doing great at their job, I dont think so, yet we dont care about the people who play sport, Critic them but dont hate. Let's not make our glorious history a burden on the team. It should be a benchmark! Adios. GGMU ❤
@esp2017Ай бұрын
I think Bruno's mentality of "I'll go where the ball is" and his almost headline chicken mentality is a huge negative because Ten Hag's system requires the players to essentially go man for man. This is why when we don't have the ball, we always look like we're playing against a team with an extra man. We looked better with ten men because we stopped going man for man. This isn't a "we must sell Bruno" post btw, I think Ten hag should've seen this.

No, Ronaldo, going from an “F” to a “D” isn’t good enough. But did you know any students who went from an “F” to an “A” in one year at school? Me either. But I did know students who went from an “F” to an “A” over a few years. Impatience is killing this club.

I really think Ronaldo is devaluing the impact those players had? You can’t tell me Ten Hag sat before the match and said yeah, I want you to only press one at a time, and then when a defender starts running at you, just let them through! Players have to take some responsibility, through missing chances, bad finishing, just looking like the can’t be bothered to be there. I don’t think that Erik realistically is the man for us, but I don’t like the idea that the players are getting off freely
@StegibbonАй бұрын
He was supposed to be a disciplinarian and we've still got players being lazy in the first few minutes of a game. Some blame has to be on him for not getting the players up for it, but a lot has to go on them for a lack of professional pride.
@johntipling842Ай бұрын
Weird. I was under the impression that the manager selected the players - both buying and then choosing them for his tactics. Just wondering, exactly how bad does it have to get before it’s no longer good enough?
@d.b.cooper1Ай бұрын
By your logic we'd still have David Moyes
@scottsinner7530Ай бұрын
Ronaldo’s “you can’t have it both ways” argument about results vs performances is so silly. The fanbase isn’t a unified entity with a single opinion. Some fans thought last year’s performances were awful, but that was maybe ok, because we were winning or drawing some matches we maybe shouldn’t have. And some DIFFERENT fans think that some performances this year (not Spurs) are encouraging, and that results will eventually follow.
@mayart9678Ай бұрын
Why don’t we do something we have not done- keep the manager and take the power away from the players. You just hand them the power. Take it away, play or piss off.
@aminklasyszkowski3552Ай бұрын
I think our team is capable to win “those” game without a world class tactics because of their quality. Form the Ole era, we can see they played well. It is because they want to play, they have the desire to win. I think ETH tactics are not good enough but the players doesn’t have the desire to win. That’s what makes me furious. You can win a game if you have the desire. All of the players need to step up their game if ETH get sacked or not. I’m a ETH inners but I love this club more so I don’t care what happens with ETH. I just want MU to become the powerhouse again. INEOS need to solve the core problems in the club. I hope we as a MU fans can back this team up (you don’t need to support ETH). Hard to see but I think if there is new manager coming in, they will be like ETH.

Hate to break it to you guys but a managerial change isn't going to turn this around. The on-field performance is always the fault of the players. Too much is made of the importance of the manager. Hardest thing to do is stick with a plan in the long run but that's exactly what Utd need more than anything right now.

Ronaldo finally challenging this progress narrative that Paddock and Howson keep parroting. Progress in some regard was inevitable if last year is the benchmark. The benchmark should be where we are in comparison to other top four clubs. Also very little weight should be assigned to stats (eg xG) at this early stage of the season as they can be very easily skewed and the sample size is very small.

The whole who do we get if Ten Haag goes makes no sense, when Arsenal got arteta he wasn't a big name manager, same with Liverpool and slot, Chelsea and maresca, Bayern and kompany, Inter and inzaghi and Spurs with ange. Utd need to identify a manager and go for him, just because he may not be a big name doesn't mean he won't get more out of the team and be better than ten haag.

At a club as big as united. Players shouldn't have to buy into a manager they should do it for the badge and do what they are fucking told. They are on the best wages and brand exposure you could possibly and they can't even pass a ball 5 yards

As hard as things are currently and as much as ten haq is seeming less and less likely be the man for the job. However we need to take lessons from when we sacked OGS, we brought in Ralf and things were worse. So if ten haq goes there needs to be a structure and plan to replace. Just sacking now could mess things up further. It’s a difficult situation but just sacking him isn’t going to be the answer.

@MTB8896Ай бұрын
I kindof refuse to believe it is the manager. Ten Hag is the 7th (!) manager since the ferguson Era. All of them besides Moyes have been champions multiple times, champions league winners, cups, they have won the lot of it, including Ten Hag who fostered the best Ajax side in years. It doesnt make any sense; the common denominator is Manchester United. There are issues that has embedded itself within the organization, and i think the social systems constructed within Manchester United to adress problems and realise the Clubs/Managers visions and goals are incredibly flawed. When Rangnick called for open hart surgery i think he referenced this. Meaning; within the core social structure of this football Club there are individuals that are somehow detrimental to the Clubs ability to achieve. I think certain players are a part of the same problem and the Club has to identify who they are and replace them in other for significant positive growth to be possible. The players are extending these issues to the pitch making it visible through our eyes as underavhievement. However it is not every player but i believe Bruno, Shaw, Rashford and Maguire belong in this category. As far as backroom staff go i dont know. But this is what i see. Like if you agree
@davecollopy524Ай бұрын
No true Utd fan will forget that performance. To allow a bang average Spurs team without Son or a main striker (Werner = useless) to basically walk through our midfield is pathetic. Drop Rashford, drop Dalot (or at least make him play in position) and give Bruno a rest. Zirkzee should be playing off Hojlund up front, Amad and Garna on the wings. Mount, Ugarte and Mainoo in midfield. Defence needs a look at. Onana is the best we have and let’s face it has saved our blushes a few times even though he’s erratic. Ten Hag has two games only to make this work no more.
