FUMOTO Oil Drain Valve Install --- How to and Review

How to install a Fumoto oil drain valve on your car. This is the F106SX drain valve which allows for the valve to swivel. The F106 valve will not work on the Mazda CX5. You will need the SX model which swivels.

Click above and you can look at these valves online. Remember, with the Mazda CX5 you need the SX valve because the regular will bind and you will never be able to tighten the valve so it does not leak.

One of the nicest things having a Fumoto Drain Valve onto your oil pan aside from keeping your garage clean from oil spills and easy changing oil is if you accidentally overfilled oil, you can easily level accdg to the recommended engine oil level.

The best thing about the Fumoto drain valve is that it's easier to drain the oil if it gets overfilled, which I have done before.

The commenters are all wrong. Fram makes certain filters perfectly fine, it depends which series you run. The real reason why you shouldnt run that filter and should run either OEM or Napa Gold/Wix is because those filters are made specifically for the mazda engine other filters are made for more than one vehicle. Also I believe you should fill the filter with oil before installing.

Since it rotates there is a hole in the part that moves and also a hole in the main part when you go to tighten it up is it luck of the draw that you dont block the hole

Sralaine 007 o-007 Did you install one of these ? Also if you did does the threads going into the oil pan stop the last little bit of oil coming out the threads seem deep

Just the hex was stripped, not the threads.

Dude. You didn’t wipe the oil filter seat. Of old crappy black oil film before installing new filter. Not to beat you too bad but you used another Fram. Have you not looked into how crappy Frams are made. Try Wix next.

I would have wiped the old oil, but not wiping it shouldn't be a big deal since it is nothing compared to the volume of new oil you're adding. Totally agree on the Frams. Go with Wix, Mobil1, Royal Purple, etc...

Where did you get the 19 ft/lbs torque figure from? Is that specific to the SX Model or applicable to all Fumoto valves?

If you haven’t already yet just google “oil drain plug Corolla 2015” and the same for the other vehicle. My 2019 Corolla with the same engine has the M12 1.25 which is the most common size

i was thinking he meant because he didn't wipe off the excess oil from the site and/or you can't see him applying some new oil around the seal of the new filter
