I recall hearing some of the 'bad nests' are a result of stress but I'm here to kinda ask if that's true in any way?

Aha! I wondered about that for years. Makes perfect sense, thank you! 🌸

Hi Jem, love your content, thank you so much for creating it. I had a few questions that I would be fascinated to know your thoughts on (sorry if this is stuff you've covered already, I think I've seen all your videos but may have missed the answer somewhere.) 1. How do you tell if a pigeon is male or female? 2. What can you tell us about some of the studies into pigeon intelligence? 3. How did you become a pigeon parent? What was it that first attracted you to these birds and how did you go from that to keeping them in your home? Thanks!

We used to have pigeons as pets (had to leave them to our friends, as we moved to another country). We might consider again. One thing I'd like to know is how to toilet-train pigeons. They are perfect pets, except that they poop every 2 minutes or so. And I was wondering if there's any proven technique or way to toilet-train them (we did not attempt).

Please check out my Pigeons as Pets beginners guide series playlist, theres an episode on cleaning and hygeine and I cover poop in there. You can get pigeon pants but they cant really be trained but they do have favourite perches so you can protect areas where they will often poop!

Nests consisting of only a few twigs, we are told, don't take long to replace. No arguing with that, is there 😅.

what can you do when you have a pigeon deeply bonded to you that he wants to be around you all the time?
