All the adoring grown-ups who "owe (the narc) our lives" "how can we repay you" "will forever live in debt to (this narc)". On the surface, it seems remarkable. I was on a long cruise and there was a couple that were the empath and the narcissist if I've ever seen it. He was overt. Very dark and aggressive. She was obviously afraid of him. Trying to please him. What I did so that he wouldn't be so dark was to ask him about his scuba diving adventure. He immediately was friendly and much more tolerable to be around. He loved talking about himself. Too funny!

Hi Maat11. I genuinely understand where you're coming from but there's no winners and losers in the situation you appear to be in - just survivors.- and you're bound to feel as though you've "lost", and that you're "weak", if you treat your situation as a battle. As tough as it is to do in the moment try to recognise and accept that that's a battle of egos they _must_ fight (it's what defines their illness,) and one you'll _always_ "lose", regardless of how well you fight. Respectfully, if you ask yourself why you fight back (and question how you fight back) you'll get a better understanding of how to move forward in a healthy way. Something you'll need to accept is that if the person in question is someone you love, and want to be loved by, then you're bound to get scarred to some extent regardless of what you do - that's a heartbreaking but unavoidable fact; it's how you respond to that scarring that'll determine how deeply you're scarred. I don't know the specifics of your situation but I'll remind you that remaining well (physically and emotionally) and "letting go" are two entirely separate issues, and that how "strong" you truly are depends on how you wear your own scars, not how many scars you inflict on others. All the best to you.

I know what you mean...I feel the same! Everyday for one reason or the other is very difficult and overwhelming. It's like a dog eat dog world now and you're always having to look out for yourself and avoid being a victim of something or someone. It's tiring and anxiety inducing being on flight or fight mode constantly. Where I live everyone is pretty miserable and walking hostile shells so it's draining when their bad vibes rub off. I can't help but absorb that negative energy. At the same time being an empath I'm highly concerned about society and the direction the world is going. Thanks for listening to my blabberings. @@KooPooky your in no way blabbing! We need fellow empaths to talk to and if possible get with another in person to recharge and get your frequency back up where it naturally emanates, although it seems extremely hard to find any nowadays. As far as living where majority are hostile, bitter, etc. , unfortunately that seems to be where society has vastly gone and it leaves us more vulnerable and forced to be in a constant state of defense and seeking to understand why they do what they do. We are so acutely tuned in to not only our own energy and emotions but also all that surrounds us and we are easy targets, especially for the narcissist. Beings of light in as dark world, yes exhausting but getting to experience the full spectrum of deep intimate emotions makes it worth it:)

Narcissists are sadistic and enjoy kicking people to the curb. They don’t lie to be near anyone who makes them feel insecure or is more beautiful or talented or successful them and they project narcissism into others for superficial reasons. It’s interesting theses channels don’t go into how narcissists actually manipulate and dominate others with narcissism with hunts. Narcissists are evil people of the lie who manipulate with logical fallacies and cognitive distortions. These channels don’t seem to discuss evaluating our own character defects and questioning ourselves or the issues with reflective functioning or objectification. Triangulation. It’s a witch-hunt.

The ones I know are very busy putting themselves out there for adoration. They dont sit still long. But they dont work. They are lazy because they dont like tasking for others. That said there are many that do work but its usually doing something that gives them their narsisistic supply. Many are politicians, CEOS, surgeons etc. And some like to make you think they are busy. Pretend or lying about their work.
@sndgrpr6633
@sndgrpr6633 5 жыл бұрын
Hi cynophilist boi. Laziness isn't a rare character trait and that's all it is - a character trait, not an expression of narcissism. Loosely put, narcissists have damaged egos, and the bulk of their narcissistic behaviour stems from a pathological need to protect their ego from further injury. How they do that is as varied as it is with 'well' people. So while 1710tmk's observation is reasonable, given there are more 'workaholics' than 'lazy people' in the general population, and 'work' is a common way to deal with self-esteem issues, those traits in themselves are not particularly useful in helping to establish whether someone is a narcissist or not. Credentialed and armchair experts alike have taken to spreading many ignorant claims regarding narcissism (I'm guessing for reasons that have more to do with their own ego issues), which has led to a lot of general confusion and misinformation about the condition. One important (and pertinent) example of that is this bizarre notion that narcissists "lack empathy". As you I hope know, that's utter crap - narcissists, like sociopaths (as distinct from psychopaths), simply have an irrational tendency to override their empathy when they feel the _need_ to. (So if your dad has never shown you an empathy he is not "merely" a narcissist, which is entirely possible of course). I feel for you (it's an ugly situation to be in ain't it) but I certainly hope you don't take the advice given in this video - it'll just turn you into a toxic person and that'll just add one more "victim" to the list. However difficult it may be for you to rationalise at the moment your dad's not 'evil' mate, he's really unwell, and a sad truth is that it's extremely unlikely he'll ever be 'healed' of his narcissism. He has very little control over his narcissistic behaviour,; in fact, despite how "obviously wrong" this may sound to you now, know that _you_ have more control over how he acts than he does. If you use that knowledge lovingly, and can resist falling into the trap of "demanding" (or expecting) that hee _not_ act narcissistically (very difficult to do - we all have an ego' right?) you may be suprised at how much less toxic your situation can become. Again, and contrary to what some would have you believe, your dad's not trying to _wilfully_ destroy your ego, he's trying to _pathologically_ protect his own. Try keep that in mind - especially at the worse of times. If you don't you'll just be adding bitterness to your heartache. All the best to you.

The narcissist loves to get you off of your center, always stay centered, NEVER take them seriously. Don't reply, but if you MUST reply to their subtle attacks, just say: "INDEED" and nothing more, then leave. Be BORING and or NEEDY, drain THEIR energy. It says somewhere in Sun Tzu's Art of War, that sometimes it PAYS to use the enemy's OWN strategies AGAINST them, usually they can't take it. Offer them canceler responses to their silly, loaded speeches, just give them a response like "TIME WILL TELL". If they ask you where did you get your new sweater? Time will tell. You respond with something GENERIC. They can be fun IF you know they are a narcissist.

My mother is a 3rd generation Narc. The reason I was put on this earth was to wait on her hand and foot. I realized this by age 11 or 12 and didn't sign on to this agenda. Drove her nuts Anyway..... On my fathers side of the family are people who can really talk. They will follow you all over the house talking and into the bathroom and not miss a breath. My sister got this gene. So she was always doing what you suggested in this video and drove my mother nuts. So I love how you put this as a suggestion. In the comments below I did see where someone said you don't want to share information that they can use against you. That is correct you don't want to do that. But my sister had a skill in sharing things that were useless. If you go into great detail on what you had for breakfast, or how much you like the chair you sit in at work. The paint color on the wall that you look at all day in the office. None of this is something that could be used. My sister was a master at this without even realizing she was doing this. She can read cookbooks like a novel and have a long one sided conversation on what she had read. So I had a full hard belly laugh when you said to do this. When my sister was in the 8th grade her music teacher's husband died. He was out shoveling snow and had a heart attack and died. He was 40 years old. From that moment on my father couldn't do anything without my mother trying to stop him from doing what he wanted to do, and inject me doing it. Because..... He is over 40 and could have a heart attack and die. When I turned 40 and started in on her old habit of trying to get me to do something for her. I would say: I'm sorry, I am over 40 now. I can't be doing things like this. I'll have a heart attack and die. Don't you care about my health? Drove her nuts..... she didn't have an answer (my father is now 85 and never had any heart issues his whole life) When I announced I was getting married to my husband I was gotten rid of. As you know Narc's are all about image. A gay marriage is not the image we want to present to the ladies at the garden club. (aside the fact all these women have known me since the day I was born and know i'm gay. But they do give her the courtesy of not saying anything) Was this easy to go through? No, but every coin has 2 sides. I don't have this crazy in my life anymore. I live a very peaceful now..... Narc free.....

I have a narcissist in my life and I always laugh in her face or I show her I don't care. If I tell her no and she becomes mad I ignore her in her face and just continue the things I was doing. Only works if it's not acting tho. But it really helps.

Love your suggestions. My husband and I actually did some of these things with our narc ex friend. One of the things I used to do to her was to and make a joke out of some of the annoying things she said or did. She has this super annoying phone ringtone that said, "Hey beautiful, you have a text message " in a male voice. It would go off constantly and loudly all day (and night) long. Sometimes it would be so annoying, even to her, she would start "yelling" at it saying, "I know I know, I'm coming!"; or "What do you want, leave me alone!" So I used to say to her half jokingly, " You know, that thing does have an OFF button!" She never laughed or even acknowledged what I said but I thought it was a way to sly dig at her and her constant need for affirmation from her many "admirers". Lol. She used to always fish for comments from my husband and at other times would say things to subtly (or not so subtly) put him down. His response was just to ignore her and I'm sure that drove her crazy. We never did directly tell her we figured her out to be a narc, and I'm not sure who made the decision to disvard whom first, but we have gone no contact now for six months. No doubt she suspected we knew what she really was and was probably going to discard us anyway. She hasn't tried to contact us since, but she's probably figured out we know by now for sure. I'm glad! 🙂 Don't need someone pretending to be our friend for 25 years only to find out it was a total fraud! 😡
