Hi it is a wonderful video.. Pls correct me if I am wrong.The following features are observed. Tight control type: 1. Check the speed,fear avoidance in the following movements - Pick up an object from the floor,Get down & up in floor,Bending in all directions. 2.Pain in end range. 3.Instability catch 4. Positive Gowers sign Loose control type: 1.Painful arc 2.Reversed lumbo pelvic rhythmn. Is there any difference in functional training for tight/loose control type? Thank you.Good Job.

The way he got up off the floor hits way too close to home for my liking 😂😂😂 Also, regarding the painful arc; is that associated with any particular structures/conditions like the painful arc in the shoulder?

I'm a good actor!;) A painful arc is commonly seen in patients of the loose control type. It's not possible to make a structural diagnosis so it could be anything from an irritated muscle, ligament to a disk etc.

What is functional? For us it's a fashionable word and overrated. All the exercises we show in the heavy training for the low back are suitable to get athletes back on track to return to sport again

I don't understand. Don't you try first to find out if the patient is suffering from sprain muscle or disk pinching because they are different issues? Is it because you recommend the same exercise for both? (these movements don't seem to inform what the patient is suffering from).

Referring to the beginning of the video, 90% of pt’s with low back pain cannot be accurately diagnosed with a structure being the nociceptive driver. Any of our opinions on what someone’s nociceptive driver might be are only theory and cannot be confirmed by exam, and they shouldn’t guide our treatment. That’s why the video is on assessment of function rather than structure.
