Steel thickness 1-1.2mm. Steel 30hgsa. I didn't know the exact time, but I think that such a glove should be made in 4-6 days. Inspired by the design of the gloves of the King of the Wild Hunt from The Witcher 3. CD Projekt RED are cool :)
I live in Ukraine. Surely you know that the war has come to us. I'm lucky. I am relatively safe and I have both electricity and the Internet. So I can make videos. Our entire knight movement is now actively opposing rascism. Someone from the first days of the war is already in the military, someone is engaged in volunteering to cover the needs of the military or civilians in trouble.
With my creativity, I plan to collect donations to help my friends. Many I know personally. Therefore, I leave my details for those who wish to help.

I have several channels on KZbin:
Live channel. There are simple videos about the life in the workshop. A day's work is one video. English subtitles
/ @perepelytsia
Світ Армору. Production of armor with Ukrainian voiceover. Production, shooting, editing and voiceover take around 2-6 weeks.
/ @worldofarmorua
Art of Armor. ArmorySmith. Dubbing of the main content into English. Production of armor.
/ @armorysmith
ArmorySmith. How to make armor. This is the version of the video that I edit before the voiceover and music are added. At this stage, I shorten and discard some moments of work.
/ @howtomakearmor
World of armor. ArmorSmith. A channel with reviews of armor and historical facts and tiktok shorts. Old videos are in russian, new ones will be in Ukrainian. English subtitles are available.
/ @armorysmithworkshop
ArmorSmith music. Slava Perepel. The music I create for my videos.

Not going to lie. I skipped right to the end and was greeted with a rather hilarious 3-5 minutes of pure silence as you stoically hammered away at your hand with a mace and nodded at your own work. Absolutely Legendary!

And this is why plate armour would have been incredibly expensive in medieval times. The time and skill involved in making it is extraordinary

Why would have been? It was expensive, but only if you had it made specially for you, some pieces could have been stolen from battlefield and sold afterwards. It wasnt so expensive then

I recently saw an Adam Savage video where he toured the armor shop at a New York museum. He was delighted, shocked, and amazed to see the thumbnails shaped in the gauntlets there. You should try that detail then get all your subscribers to tweet the video to Adam Savage.

Hi, that was a fantastic video to watch mate, the way you made that out of sheet metal and brought it to life with using all the tools available, i was defiantly watching a master of his craft at work! Just fantastic work mate! I would love to make one my self one day, love doing that type of work!! How did that feel when you put it on for the first time? And I bet it was a bit heavy? What is the weight on that in kg's? no thanks mate, ill refuse the fist bump this time, but thanks for asking! lol take care and have a great day!

At this level of artisanship I know there are no patterns involved. They study the design and make it fit roughly with boardpaper. It is all about feel and experience.

@MrEmiosk
@MrEmiosk 5 ай бұрын
There really is none. Go search for how a hammer blow moves metal, the types of anvils that exists (or that you want to make). Learn how a forge works, the difference between hot and cold forging. Quenching. Look up general blacksmithing too. That way you get introduced on how to make your own hammers and tools, and smaller projects that will build the skills needed for and prepare you for the complex forming of armour (at least if you want authentic historical armour that intentionally vary in thickness to save weight but still have the thickness where it is most needed. If you want armour to wield in hema and or sca heavy fighting you then just need thick plating to withstand the test of constant wear)

Did you purposely make the fingers wrong the first time JUST to illustrate why they need the loops?
@shockwave6213
@shockwave6213 2 жыл бұрын
The first way he did it was the historically correct way they did it in the Middle Ages. Most historically accurate pieces don't have the steel finger loops because they would rivet a leather backing on the inside of the gauntlet, then a well fitted leather glove would be sewn onto that leather backing. Putting plates or mail on the inside of the hand would compromise the grip on your weapon and make it harder to feel anything. The hand is already protected when the fist is closed, so its not much of a compromise.
