Great video, Laudon! The joy and inspiration that comes along with diving into primary sources I feel is one of the most rewarding aspects of playing early music. On the topic of iconography, I am currently posing with my lute for a lovely painter, here in NC. He is extremely kind and talented, and paints in the style of the old masters. Doing so has changed the way I view lute iconography entirely!

Thanks for encouraging us to do this. I wouldn't have gone there otherwise, but it is actually very interesting and inspiring. Also now I need some oyle of Tartar with which to annoint the fingers :)

It's funny but I actually always grab a little oil from the side of my nose for my right hand fingers before playing! : )
