2023. First listened in 2003 and never stopped. IMHO they pioneered post hardcore before the screamo wave. Funeral done something different with polyrhythm and 2 stage theatrical structure. The fact they are still touring now is testament to their talent .

Yeah, they were truly a perfect combination of influences with consistent songwriting and make other bands in the genre seem like they're trying too hard

It's interesting to see an interview from during the making of Tales, as it can be seen here they had already made the decision to scrap most of the songs they demoed before it (Colossus, Africa, In A Manner Of Sleep, Crash And Burn), but at this stage were still going to put Rise And Fall on the main album.
