boba is tapioca balls. first originated in Taiwan in the 90s but knowing taiwan, they probably got it from Japan since the two are besties. you could basically mix any drink (milk or juice version even coffee) with boba (why aren't there alcoholic versions IDK but there's no alcohol in it). i personally don't drink it but some love it. I could definitely live without it.

If you want Alcoholic Boba drinks, try Boba 7 in Los Angeles by the owner in this video. but no, Boba is the black tapioca balls you see in the drink. It's kind of like a chewy gummy consistency. Hard to describe, you just have to try it out for yourself to understand lol.
