OMG... Kudos to Fung Bros. for being so kind & diplomatic about the taste of "dou zhi-er 豆汁兒" !!! -- it is so funky in a stinky way, stinkier than stinky tofu, that even some indigenous locals, regardless of age groups, cannot stand it.

Hello FB, breakfast in Beijing. The dark soy drink was new to me and I do like the soft tofu in soup. Tried in my hometown in Queens, NY. Beijing is in northern China and buns or salty pastries are the more popular things to eat I thought. Just the area was known. Elle for Boil Dumplings

Can't help to love all the food episodes you guys did in China, Fung bros. It's really inspiring cuz altho I speak some English, it's still really difficult to figure out how to translate all the Chinese dishes from mandarin to English. Next time when you guys come to Shanghai, please feel welcome to contact me and I'll be honor to be your tour guide. But I noticed you guys have already done a Shanghai restaurant episode with Jimmy already (love that episode a lot). Anyway, as a video producer myself, I really love the effort and passion you guys put in your work. Hopefully we will have a chance to meet and maybe even make an episode together in Shanghai.

Yo Fungbros love the channel! I'm from Beijing living in LA, saw the last episode on Beijing too, great job on the tofu place, dou zhi, and the lamb soup, and you can't eat Bao Zi without chao gan man, 北京沙子口赵记炒肝, needa hit that spot. Also, you gotta try the Lu Zhu, 老门框卤煮。Muslims food is the best in Beijing, so you needa check out 牛街, 豆汁is best there, and some snacks nearby,牛肉包子near 聚宝源is gooooood,also 驴打滚,发糕. and nearby 奶酪魏, just to name a few. You can do one of those sample everything experience like Bistro Na in LA, all on the same street within walking distance.

Bro, you are sooooo brave to give the second bite of the Jiaoquan which is dipped into the mung bean milk. As a Chinese, I've tried the mung bean milk once, I even didn't taste it. I ordered it, smelled it and then left it there without touching a little bit……Even most Beijing locals don't like it now, especially the younger generation. So basically it is more like a weird food for the tourists to satisfy their curiosity。

9:46 not "they are becoming harder to sell" it's they aren't allowed to sell it. the fact that it's a bunch of abcs taking us around beijing is almost comical because of all the inaccurate portrayal of culture and food. rarely see them asking actual locals of the place they go. just another channel of ABCs trying to be cool. this is why people have a misconception of abcs.

@LL-vg2kd4 жыл бұрын
This can't be an overview of the breakfast in Beijing nor China. Hutong is an essential part of the culture in Beijing but it is not all. So you can't conclude for all just based on what you had seen and tried. All the food in your show except the fired dough are not necessary to be the daily breakfast for Beijing people. Instead, their existence is more like a cultural memory or symbol than a daily basis meal to people regardless of the local or the visitors. So the interpretation or definitions of the characteristics of this city that is a conservative village may not be accurate.
