Nagatoro is the girl many of us guys wish we had in highschool. A young lady who is willing to train us to become more social and female-savvy, even if we don't realize it.

It’s a pretty smart move by the writers, those who choose to watch further into the series would realize that her seemingly “cruel” teasing, is just Nagatoro teaching Senpai how to grow up and get out of his shell. Some people also do that at a young age, if/when they’re not sure how, to express their love for someone. Some social awkward people need a hand, or advice, others may need a push outside their comfort zone.

It's really not the most hard-hitting romance anime that I've ever watched, but it's cute, and I love that through all her teasing, it's made abundantly clear that she can not take her own medicine, but that's really all this anime is. This is not the sort of thing that should be stretched out over three seasons. There isn't much actual story here. I like a slow-burn as much as the next guy, but I also need to see more development beyond a continued gag. I don't mean to dog on this anime as much as it sounds like I am. I enjoyed it, really, and it's far better than the majority of trash that's out there; it just doesn't live up to it's potential or claim a place with the S-tier romance anime out there. It's good, and I'm definitely watching season three, but I also feel that it would be unfair to compare it to Toradora, or Spice and Wolf.

I'll be frank, it is for this story arc, and this story arc alone, why I don't think I can watch the English Dub of this series. The reason being is that her last name was already revealed by Gamo-chan early in the English Dub of Season 1, whereas she used Nagatoro's nickname of Hayacchi in the Japanese Dub. It was one of the most significant developments of Naoto Hachioji's relationship with Nagatoro up to that point, and the English Dub basically spoiled it. That, and the fact that they have Gamo-chan refer to Hachioji as "Senpai" in the English Dub instead of "Paisen," as she does in the manga and the Japanese Dub.
