You know guys, he's doing all his plyo rhythmically to optimize his reflexive (rubber band) like strength. (I think it's officially called reflexive or dynamic strength). But you don't have to do it only that way. If you wanna work on your power (not the rubber bandy element of a jump) go a few less reps and put a few secs pause in between each execution. You''d get higher jumps and also exert more intensity (load) on your muscles causing them to get stronger resulting in an ultimately more higher jump!

Can you do the jump squats with a vest or with dumbells? Barbell seems a bit too risky since if you fuck up the movement once you could really injure your back. Weighted squats even without the jump can be really risky if you do them explosively. Slow and controlled squats are completely different story tho.

BB jump squat it is with hight risck for joints and spine, especialy after you jump few times, in my opinion.
@FunkRoberts
@FunkRoberts 10 жыл бұрын
Yes definitely an advanced movement. I wouldn't suggest to any ordinary person but fighters with base strength that have to move explosively should be able to do this, after mastering the bodyweight squat, regular barbell squat and light BB Jump Squats! But if you have joint and back problems then fighting is probably not for you - Funk

Total crap and Funk is clueless. NONE of the exercises were performed in anything like a plyometric manner. The transition for all the exercises is entirely too SLOW. Research plyometrics via Sports Science sources and learn to to it right.
