That was one of my favorite shows as a kid. The Newlywed Game. My mother allowed me to watch it and The Dating Game too. If there was a question that opened things up to a lot of innuendo, and one of the spouses answered inadvertently with a pun and the audience would fall out laughing, I'd ask my mom what it meant? She would just tell me to never mind, just laugh with everybody else laughing, you'll understand one day, but today isn't that one. No I wasn't uneducated about sex, mom was very open and answered questions straight up. But innuendo, puns and the like, I was too young to get. As it happens innuendos are among my favorite things to this day. 🤭 As for The Dating Game. I remember distinctly, the very show that a serial killer was on it. Nobody knew at that time of course. During the show however, each time he answered a question me and my mom would look at each other. She asked what I was thinking about, why I keep looking at her when he answers? I told her I didn't like him. He's weird somehow. Years later I get a phone call from mom and she was yelling about "that guy from the Dating Game! You remember?! Right?!" I had to get her to slow down and start from the beginning. She did, and yes I remembered that specific show, and the guy just seemed odd and made me uncomfortable, I didn't like him. She then told me he had been arrested for the murder of several women! A serial killer! Crazy. Other than that The Dating Game was fun. But I'd get irritated because they never choose the guy I thought they should. 😤 Oh yeah! I almost forgot!!! The serial killer was the guy she chose! BUT BEFORE THE DATE COULD HAPPEN, she called the producers, or whoever handled the date stuff, and told them she didn't want to go. She just didn't feel comfortable, or something like that. I bet she was really happy she decided not to go! 😮

I hate to say this because I'm one of the least racist people I know..BUT..that is how some black people perpetuate racism and keep it going. If a white host did what Steve Harvey does..they would be fired for being racist. I don't understand why people can't just be people and forget the damn skin color..once for all and forever.
