Whenever I get sad, I will watch a playlist of these KZbin videos. Even now and then, I will get interrupted because someone has labeled the video as offensive. This makes me happy, because George Carlin has been dead for 13 years, and he is still pissing people off! A true legendary comic.

About 40 years ago, my friend and I were heading out to lunch. We were passing an optical shop and he turns to me and says “Hold on a minute” and he heads into the store. I’m mystified since he didn’t need or wear glasses. So I just follow him in. He walks up to the counter and anxiously asked the guy standing behind it: “Are you open on Thursday’s?’ The guy is like “ah, yea we are.’ ‘Thank You!!” and turns and leaves the store. I barely got out of the store, I was laughing so hard!

One of best things I ever saw by George Carlin came ca.1979 in a show called The Chuck Barris Rah-Rah Show, where he stood on the stage for three minutes without saying a thing. No weird expressions, nothing. He just looked back at the audience. The audience was cracking up neverthless. Then he concluded by saying, "Thank you very much!" Then Milton DeLugg played him off as he left the stage.

Speaking of toll roads; I had an uncle who drove a big rig for years. Since he knew he did not pay a toll when hauling gas or fuel; he would tell the attendents he had a truck load of "sailboat fuel". He said he never got stopped and drove right on through when he said this.

Cranford Ducain He was BSing you. All trucks pay tolls. It's that he was lying to them to not have to pay. I haul food to hazmat. We all pay a toll. No one is special here to be able to get out of it.

My father's sail boat has two engines, an in board and an outboard, so he does need fuel for them. In fact, many sail boats have engines in them.

If a “sailboat” has a need for gas, it’s not a sailboat.
@SpiritBear125 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, because once you're out of the marina, you raise the sails and cut off the engine. You can't sail in and out of your slip at the marina with your sails up, it wont work. You can't go in reverse with sails either. There are times when the wind totally dies and you don't go any where. That situation is called "stays". Getting stuck in stays absolutely sucks. Having a motor will get you out of that situation if need be. Sails are great when there is wind, but when there's no wind to be had, it's a bad problem. It's not fun to be stuck out on the ocean or even in the middle of the bay and the boat goes no where, just sits there and bobs in the water and you cook in the sun.

Second observation.... He wasn't just a comedian, George Carlin was a performer extraordinaire. He knew how to hold your attention with his mannerisms & such. That's what made him even much more than a cut above the rest.

What Am I Doing In New Jersey was my favorite Carlin special. Loved this guy, he changed my perspective completely :DD

I don't care which Carlin re-run I watch he keeps me in uncontrollable belly laughs. Really good for people who live alone without much company (someone to laugh with). He unwittingly fulfilled - and thanks to KZbin still does - the bible's claim of laughter ['a merry heart'] being the best medicine.

I literally only came across this man yesterday because of a post on Facebook. He’s amazing. The funniest person. In mitigation I am from UK still I don’t know why he was celebrated here .

Honestly this had me laughing harder than his other bits and I watch A LOT of standup. Sometimes hours a day at least 2x a week. Good selection. He was just being goofy instead of teaching lessons in the process here
