The reason Steve was in "sleeping mode" like that is because the when tony said they should get shawarma, it was impromptu but the director liked it so much, they kept it in and even decided to add it in as an end credit scene. The end credit scene was filmed when Chris Evans was filming another movie that he had facial hair for and he's covering it with his fist
