@TheTuxedoCat-sh5fn5 жыл бұрын
Forêt I feel giving advice is easier than becoming an impromptu therapist. That’s a major drain. Especially if you’re not prepped with an invisible energy shield to protect from complete mental fatigue. I’ve also been in the same position of not be able to find what I’m looking for. But it’s difficult to even say what we’re looking for. It’s like we know it when we know it. X) Update: I hold true to what I said, but I have learned through different good and bad means of what I’m looking for in another person. XD Oof

@Rubix Cube I know just but sometimes I need my time and it's hard to be always available
@sandybeach85965 жыл бұрын
I related to the coffee date from when I was younger but I think the move toward mentoring masks over the awkwardness of not connecting. We see people's patterns and sense underlying issues but we may not be of much benefit. These days I just make online self-help tools available during introductory stages of getting acquainted which normally happens online. That way I don't have to meet anyone in person and the individual gets what they need without the superfluous interpersonal contact. I recognize the person doesn't need to know me. In truth I assume most people aren't interested in anything real to begin with....it's a little depressing but saves time.
@Neopolitan_Illusion5 жыл бұрын
That makes the type harder to be found. The convenience that the internet offers doesn't promote communication in person anymore which is disheartening at some point and even more isolating, but I do believe that there are lots scattered all over the world to serve a purpose. If INFJs truly are gifted, it's nice if they can share it to the world.

The job interview one is so freaking accurate. Anyone else feeling like they don't have a real personality and instead just mold themselves into whoever is needed when interacting with different types of personalities, or mirroring them? Like, does "just relax, be yourself" push anyone else into an identity crisis because you have no idea how to do that, who would that be? And also panicking when you have to introduce two different types of people in your life to each other, because you're a different person to each of them, and you feel like an imposter and don't know how to deal with having to reconcile those two different facets of yourself in front of them? Is that an INFJ thing or is it just me being a weirdo lol? Also, INFJs/INFPs, important question! If you find it brings you fulfillment, contentment, or is just simply fitting to your "personality needs" (gosh that sounds just👌😂), what is your job? I 'm desperately looking for ideas.
@lauragoreni30203 жыл бұрын
As an INFJ, I do have my own personality, but it took me some time to actually understand myself. With time I've also become more assertive and therefore I don't change the way I behave that much, even though I still do it to make others and myself feel more comfortable if we are very different people or if we don't know each other well. But I never do things I don't want to do just to please people I don't care about. As for the job, I teach English as a foreign language and I like immensely, because I can choose to make the class talk about any topic I like in order to train their language skills. It brings me the perfect mix between human relationships and technicalities (as when I teach grammar stuff). It's very fulfilling. I prefer to teach to teens or older students: I like kids but don't enjoy teaching them because it's harder to talk about various topics and develop together different ideas. However my absolute dream job would be becoming a screenwriter or even better, a movie critic.
@janifathimajamal48263 жыл бұрын
@@lauragoreni3020 I very well connect with this..This seems to be what we are doing while we get matured.While I was so sure of my identity, all the time and what I wants too.. I realized quite late that I can make things easier for others by unconsciously making it difficult for myself, be it in casual conversation or to avoid conflict or just that things can get more easy..But then changes and bound to happen when you realize it.So I have consciously put this effort, I suppose
@alaricbelmain69353 жыл бұрын
I don't think identity crises are inherent to being an INFJ, rather it's part of growing up. That just takes time and self-exploration. As far as the high levels of agreeableness expressed by INFJs are concerned, I see the malleable aspect of my behaviour around other people as a strength rather than a weakness. It makes empathy much easier, which for my line of work is essential. Of course we INFJs have to be careful not to adapt to others so much that we lose ourselves, but if you are able to find yourself first it becomes much easier to stand steadfast. Being more or less confident now, I find others try to be more like me rather than the other way around. I'm 24, an INFJ-A, and am studying medicine. Being a doctor fits my need to help other people very well and the profession's close proximity to mortality keeps work profoundly interesting. Medicine is rewarding and intellectually stimulating. I couldn't imagine myself in any other career as that sense of meaning is vitally important to me. I couldn't get out of bed in the morning for a job as a salesman for example. Therapy is also a great career choice for INFJs. I also considered being a teacher or creative writer growing up. Then again, if you can't find meaning in your work, you need to find meaning in other aspects of your life (family, hobbies, etc.).
@CristalRose033 жыл бұрын
Well, I think that it's not like you don't have a personallity of your own, just that maybe being an INFJ makes you rethink your personallity some more. For example, I've liked rock and metal since I was about 7 years old. And just the other day I took a second and thought 'do I really like it or is it that I got used to listening to it?', and after a couple of seconds of thinking, I just said 'no, I actually love it. It's no habit, it's just me'. Same with my taste for books and videogames, or even my goals in life and my feelings. I just have to double check if they're still there sometimes. By the way, I work in administration. Not what I studied in graduate school, but I like it cause I get to organize and plan things. It's enjoyable.

Okey, I can relate to everything in this video, especially to random people telling me their problems and story of their lifes, but the most unexpected thing was when my therapist has started doing this. Now finally the therapy is interesting, guys.

LOL. That's funny as hell. You should tape the sessions. Then tell her her time is almost up and you can pick it up again with her next week towards the end
