Dude when I was in BMT that’s where I lost the most self esteem LOL. All the girls in my flight were so beautiful when we saw pictures of them before the military. And they let us wear makeup for flight photos and I was shook by how well they did their makeup.

I remember hearing a story where a lower ranked person who had to salute and scream the higher ranked person's last name but absolutely couldn't pronounce the name and just peed right there, still trying to pronounce it. That's not even the weirdest part of the story. The higher ranked person simply dissmissed the one who peed and that bastard reported the higher rank for not assigning a punishment. Some people don't deserve a break I suppose, the rat bastard.

What’s deterring me from enlisting is the yelling, and also possible belittling. I can take the physical aspect, but I know the screaming would induce a ton of anxiety in me😂 lol and I learned that from watching your videos!❤️

Pretty much in the job description. You will be mentally broken down, no matter how long it takes until you don't even know what your name is, then be allowed to feel pride under a flag. In the computer world that's called hacking the bootloader 😄 I personally think I'd be the guy who goes to prison for stabbing the drill instructor. Edited to add: In short, if you're not a psychopath, you'll be fine. If all you have left in you at the end of your ropes is murder, don't join. A good person will fall, and there will be all your friends there to pick you up. Some people I know swear that they have made friends closer to them than their own family in the process. Imagine that, closer than flesh and blood. Do you want that kind of friends? Induced co-dependance has its ups and downs, especially after you are done and out honorably.

Erdem Memisyazici Yeah that does sound nice to make close friends like that, but it’s just not for me. I just wish the recruiters told what it would really be like, instead of us having to find out through KZbin lol😂. It’s not totally off my radar, but for now I’m just gonna continue making friends by doing musical theatre, but that’s for that info!💜

Alright - you two had me all teared up at the end! I'm an Army brat but looking to join AF Reserves in the coming year or so. Both my parents were Army. My mom did 36 years and my dad did 20 in Army SF. However, my father passed this year in May due to COVID and I know that if he could he'd be like your parents and admire and be proud before tapping me out if that was an option for me (yay COVID stupidity...) So treasure that moment for sure!!!

I think the grossest part to me was having a flight full of kids! I didn't get my monthly during training but other girls in my flights did and A LOT of them were so gross to leave pads and tampons inside their ABU's! Laundry crew found out and had to re do everyone's ABU's,underwear,bras,and basically everything! and when MTI found out he punished everyone.It didn't just happen once it happened quite a few times.Disgusting!

I a Marine, my advice on staying under the radar is the worst thing you can do to yourself. If you want to be promoted, show them that you are willing to earn it. Do not back down from any challenges and extra duty that comes up. Show them that you want to be a leader. Above all, this is for everyone, never quit. When thing get hard, say these words "Never Quit." You don't have to say it aloud, say it to yourself. That is my 2 ¢...
