BUT chemical dyes are not like natural dyes like hennah they obstruct water and form a coating on the hairs but natural dyes get absorbed

i didnt know that, not that im planing on dying my hair anyways, but i guess if it obstruct water, he's thinking that it affects his wudo or ghusl as if its like what nail polish does, but Allah knows best, if it did affect wudo the prophet peace be upon him wouldnt say its okay right ? and in this day and age this imam didnt say oh only natural because thats what people used in the old days, and that chemical ones are not allowed, so use common sense and research many sources of ahadith or imams and muftis @@icelolly4277

I follow and greatly respect this sheikh. May Allah reward him for the khayr that he shared with all of us. To what sheikh has said above, I would also like to humbly share my thoughts.. 1. If a person dies his hair in colours which are unnatural to his ethnic background, then wouldn't that go against his 'fitra' too? By that I mean it would be only natural if person of blonde hair dyed his hair blonde , but it would be unnatural to dye his hair black, as black hair is not how Allah created him. Same goes for different ethnicities. 2. Perhaps Prophet's injunction to not dye the hair black is meant for older people ? As dying can oftentimes be used to hide age and look younger, so perhaps in order to prevent that , the injunction is to not dye black ( the wording black is used as the addressed population were Arabs who largely are black of hair). 3. Usually it has been observed that when it comes to looks , Islamic position has been to mostly not alter the God-given features but one is allowed to correct a defect which is unnatural. So for example it is permissible to go for correction of teeth or a surgery to remove an extra finger; but it is prohibited to do rhinoplasty or some changes for merely beautification purposes. And Allah knows best. Also I ask for forgiveness if there is any mistake made above .

Dyeing is a temporary thing. It fades or more hair comes and it's gone. That's why it's allowed. Permanent changes are not allowed. Allah knows best.
