spent the night at Madras Oregon in preparation for the next day rafting trip. This city girl was shuttled to the county fair by friends who took off to party and I wandered onto a cowboy poetry contest. I was mesmerized by their wit and charm as I had never known of such a thing. years later, I became president of a flight club and organized the annual air fair. fond memories of putting together the "hangar lies" contest where the old timer, ww2 bomber and fighter pilots competed with outrageous and clever stories or poetry. the prize was a cow pie made of chocolate and coconut with a plastic fly on it.

Do you by any chance have the appearance by the guy who did the poem "Cowboy Time" which he followed with the poem where the cowboy fell on his whiskey bottle, and his wife knew he'd been drinking because the next morning she found bandaids on the mirror?
