I've had many dogs. Rarely have I been without one. When they pass on I shed tears for them, or, perhaps, those tears are for me. When my time comes, I know they all will be there waiting for me.

I had an Aussie that I raised from a pup working dairy cattle. She was with me all the time. I had to have her put to sleep when she was almost 16. It broke my heart. She was with me through my low times and my high times. She hung around long enough to see me cured from Leukemia. The lord put that old girl in my life at just the right time and I thank him for that. RIP Dixie Belle.

Baxter, you are a man's man. Anybody who is that feeling towards his dog is a good man. I have had a few dogs in my life which I miss dearly. Anyone who says dogs don't have emotional feelings or can't feel love is missing a major part of life. God bless you Baxter.

Thank you Baxter. I tear up every time I watch this video. I wish I could post a picture of my little buddy on this comment. My little Scamp was the best dog I ever had. He was family; well they all are really. More human than dog somehow. He was all of 14 pounds but ruled all the dogs, even the big ole 70 pounders... He followed me everywhere. He wanted nothing more than to be in my presence. I'd imagine that's what God wants out of us.

What a Great Tribute to Man's Best Friend. As many others have said,"if you don't believe dogs have feelings and emotions have a large piece of their Heart missing". I've had many dogs over the years and have several now, and I Love everyone of them. They meet you at the door all excited, no matter how long you've been gone. They look at you with those deep warm eyes and your Heart just melts. Dogs are a Gift from God I'm sure of that. And there's nobody around who can tell it like Baxter.

We lost our "Scout" last summer after fourteen years. First one we had to put down and we thought maybe we were gonna swear off the four legged family members. Now after spending a year tending to my wife's mother and saying goodbye when alzheimers took Her, My wife and I brought home "Maggie". I don't know where in the heart dogs reside but that is their place and their place only.

We had to put down my 3 year old Airedale, Autumn a week ago on Sunday. She had renal carcinoma. It was time for her but the hole in my heart is huge. She was my best friend and the best dog I have ever had. This is a beautiful poem, thank you so much Baxter. It brings on another stream of tears, they just seem to keep coming back.

Well, dangit. Now I'm in tears all over again missing my own Aussie, Shasta. She brought us much joy and a little consternation, and left us too soon. For weeks after her passing, we could hear her in the house - flopping down on the wooden floor and sighing, the jingle of her tags, her nails clipping across the kitchen floor. It was sweet of her to comfort us that way for awhile.

Thank you. We lost 2 this year one in February and yesterday. They were the same age. Our male lost his eyesight and couldn't walk on his own anymore. Heartbreaking to watch them suffer. God Bless our Furbabies

I had a dream once about my dog. He had been dead a few weeks. I dreamed that he talked to me like a person. It wasn't weird though or funny though.He didnt move his mouth or anything, it was like he came to me in a dream like they god did to prophets. He talked like how I imagine he would if he could. He told me how he just got old and he was hurting and his time had come. He talked about how he loved the family and he talked about times we had. It eased the hurt I felt . My one and only dog.

My dog Gracie came to me, because I became a recluse. I stopped trusting people and lived my life alone. The way she came to me really is an amazing story, but the important part of my story is because of our walks at the park and neighborhood, we began to make friends and now we have many people and dogs that we can call friends. Over a 31 year period my wife and I have had to put down 6 dogs. Many tears were shed. It is such a shame that dogs don't live as long as us. There would not be a life without a dog to bring joy into our lives. They love us through thick and thin and our lives are better off for the relatively brief period of time that we are allowed to share with them.

My Sister is a Pastor and we have talked about whether dogs and cats have a 'soul', the conclusion we came to is yes, they do. Correct me if I'm wrong when you watch your four legged furry family member sleeping, do you notice how they try to run? They must be dreaming, maybe it's chasing a cat or something. If they dream, they've got a soul, if they have a soul, they go to heaven. This is just my opinion I'm sharing with you. Think about it.

Oh there is a heaven... the good book tells us so. Not all people go there but all dogs do. Animals don't have original sin so they go straight to heaven to the Lord who made them. Not all of us will make it there...but I want to go meet my Corey and Muffins again.

We adopted a dachshund 3 years ago when he was 7 years old. He was too old too use for breeding anymore and needed a loving home. He is the best dog ever! He barks at strangers and protects whoever he is sitting with. He is losing his teeth and cant 'hold it' all night anymore. He is our first dog. I own cats but a dog is so different. A dog is so happy to see you,so happy for a walk or a belly rub. Peanut is his name and he is getting old. But we love him: barking and all because he loves us.

Awesome video. Cried for my Blue but you had a special cattle dog too and I am very sorry for your loss. I found a huge hard cancer lump on Blue's abdomen and the vet did not want to operate because his congestive heart failure was so bad he would not have survived the surgery. I had to escort my best friend over the "Rainbow Bridge", three years ago, after 13 years, he was my constant companion and he loved me unconditionally, I loved him too. I haven't had a dog since I guess I'm still in mourning because I can't bring myself to get another dog. I called him "Stinky Boy", he answered better to that name than Maxx. I don't trust humans like I trust an animal, I'm sure whoever reads this can understand what I'm saying. Enough of that. I really enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
