Funny dog “stealing” scene from "Trafic" by Jacques Tati

Tati's movies are great for many reasons, but one of them is that you don't even have to know what anyone is saying (which is very little) to get what's going on. This has subtitles already anyway. You just have to watch-sometimes very closely.

The first time I saw this movie was 1973 an I nearly pi$$ed myself watching this scene. The second time I saw this scene was here on KZbin and I nearly did it again🤭 Proof that humour does not change..

I totally agree. Atkinson's Mr. Bean is just stupid; Tati is ingenious in a way similar to the Marx Brothers-full of irony and satire.

If you're looking for any kind of "logic" to a Tati film, you should just move on to something else. He is an acquired taste, if ever. However, there was no one like him, and he could be amazingly satirical, as in this film.

Gratuitous and cruel pranks are a classic. Many kids (most yonger than those) have made some. It is obvioulsy part of the human fabric. But the funny part is not the prank, it is the ways the attempts of Hulot at reassuring her backfire.
