@@PopeeThePerformer You know what? Even POPEE is less of an asshole! At least he usually gets karma for his actions, can be nice to people at times, and its implied he isn't all that bad deep inside. Plus, he is at least a fun character, Funny isn't, she's just a bitch with nothing special or amusing about her.

Popee is jealous, selfish, and shows sociopathic tendencies. He does seem to like Kedamono, but his bad traits tend to cloud his judgement in many situations. Meanwhile Funny is just a manipulative psycho. Every time she treats either of the aliens nice, it’s for her own personal gain, and when it’s inconvenient for her, she neglects and occasionally ignores them entirely. Crescent gets the worst of this, and even though he does act like an asshole too, it’s clearly brought on by Funny’s neglect. The character dynamic between the three seems disturbingly close to a real world abuse scenario, except with more cartoonish violence and death. Think of Funny as a single mother, and the aliens as her children. Some of the episode plots sound even more fucked up in that context. Here’s how Episode 1 would go: “A single mother kicks out her child because she doesn’t like his painting of her, and leaves him out there overnight. He sneaks back inside but then she kicks him out again. HE THEN BURNS TO DEATH OVERNIGHT.” I could go on and on with each episode.

Why are all these so traumatising but when they’re shown in this cute and innocent way it seems normal. Like Funny literally just destined them for doom, crescent forced his friend to take him out of his misery and now corona has to stay on a boat with his friends corpse that he will die on sooner or later.
