That’s a perfectly valid criticism of a piece of media, particularly if the person in the position of the protagonist isn’t very-well suited to embody that role, or is just not a very interesting or well-written character. It’s not that crazy to think a story might improve if taken from the perspective of a different character, instead of say, Kirito-esque self-insert #20386 for example. IDK why they’re acting like that’s a dumb thing to say, it’s just basic critical engagement with media
