Watching this video for probably the 6th time. I live an hour from Funspot, met John a few times. I remember when this video first came out. It was a great time in my life. I remember being way into arcades, the Arcade Outsiders Podcast, Funspot, etc. Life is good now, but different. Watching this video is like going home. Thanks for the memories, John. The little score tags on your machines made me think. I wouldn't suggest getting rid of the tags, because they're cool, but you need one of those scrolling LED signs to put the high scores on.

The obsession with the cabinets and artwork starts to grate - for me it's about the game, the gameplay, and the electronics :- esp. the early stuff. I personally don't care about the cabinet as long as the game works.

I actually went to funspot once and it was amazing. I hope I get to go again soon. I had so much fun playing space harrier the sit down game and got to play the tmnt game that I decided to play it until I beat the game and I did. I was also able to play the dragons lair game for a bit but next day I went it was down so that was a shame. I actually played that zombie game it was kinda cool.

man yeah I wonder if those King of Kong guys get a lot of that after being in the movie? :P I looked up Pandora's Palace and I'm watching it and the music was super catchy, sounded very Konami-esque... sure enough I rewound to the beginning of the video (since it went by so fast I didn't see) and sure enough, their name was on the title screen! I'll definitely fire that one up in MAME later. My NEO*GEO dream picks though: Fatal Fury Special (was definitely the SF2 Turbo of the FF games) Metal Slug 2/X (personally wasn't into 3, that whole 'gaining weight' mechanic just slowed the game down imho) Aero Fighters (probably one of my favorite shmups on the NEOGEO) any of them are great really and yeah definitely one of the Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble titles probably 2 or AGAIN either one. great videos as always man!
