_Adding a comment reply to that one viewer question about the multi-cade..._ Agreed. Adding every kind of controller to the control deck to help emulate all the classics gets insanely convoluted in a hurry and an eight way controller with six buttons will really get you far. But, what I would do is something I have never heard of being done. I would take an idea from the cartridge systems and have swap-able controls. Here's how... The center area is ideal for one player games. Instead of having a pre-set joystick/button combo, I would have a boxy crater that dips down into the machine. Somewhere at the bottom would be a multi-pin plug that resembles a cartridge port. What would go into this crater would be a perfectly matching housing that contains one set of controls. This housing would have the opposite version of the cartridge port, which easily links the two parts together. Most often, you would have the joystick/button housing. But, say you want to play some Missile Command. Just pull out the joystick and swap in the trac-ball housing. Power up and play. Any game with a unique control layout would need it's own housing, of course. Say, housing for an Adventures of Major Havoc would be different from most driving games. Also might want to make the crater into an extra long rectangle, so as to handle a dual stick game, like Robotron 2084. I would also use slider locks, like the type used to secure house windows, to make sure the housing stays in place while in use. You really don't want to get into a game and have that joystick fly off in your hands...while disconnecting the housing from a hot socket. No matter what you do, you probably can't adapt 100% of everything to this idea. After all, those Paperboy handlebars might prove too heavy for any locks to truly hold in place. And a three/four player game will probably have to be dedicated or force others to have some kind of PS4 controllers set to Blu-Tooth. But, I would build a retro multi-cade with plug-n-play swap-able controls over a control deck with forty types of interfaces.

As soon as I saw John crouching nonstop in Quartet I was thinking... Uh he's probably pressing down on the joystick thinking it's right... His whole complaint with the game was the controls and it was because he wasn't using them right. To be fair, it's weird to have the controls all lined up straight with the cabinet when the control panel angles on the sides... So it's confusing, yeah... but not playing it for 4 rounds and still not getting that you're oriented the wrong way confusing... lol. It's like John has a momentary stroke or something.

When they went to make Ghostbusters in 1984, they hit a snag when an already existing property The Ghost Busters from 1975 already had the rights to the name. Columbia Pictures bought the rights to use the name for the movie, but not for a TV show. The Ghostbusters cartoon had to be called The Real Ghostbusters because Filmation rushed out a cartoon version of the 1975 film to cash in on the name.

Cool video as always John, but sorry to say, here in Tokyo, game arcade centers are way better and makes the ones in the west look third world and boring. Game selections old and new and the decor, to even the prizes and food is way way better here than in the states!:) why doesn't game arcades in the states have more American games? it seems as though there's 99% Japanese games. please fix Power Drift and get Pong soon!
